Automate SMS using Salesforce flow?

Is it possible to use Salesforce flow to send SMS messages? I’ve only found info on using the RC API to automate sending SMS and I can’t find any info on using a flow to send an SMS.

    Hi ​@mtepker this is possible today using custom APEX objects and meta data. We will be releasing documentation on how this is done later this quarter.

      ​@georgelu I Would also love to get an update on how this can be done with apex, flow etc. even if unofficial or incomplete documentation.
