Q: Hello. Our toll free number does not show our call id for an outbound call. Just shows “Toll Free”. I know it’s not meant for much outbound calling but it would good to show correct information. When can we expect that?

A: Caller ID name in a toll-free number is an industry limitation. If the caller ID name is attached to a toll-free number, the call recipient will see only that number, not the company name. Q: With my previous provider, Dialpad, my team was able to text clients from our main business number without needing a separate third-party service, so I was wondering if RingCentral now offers that capability natively.

A: Definitely! Go to Auto-receptionist > General Settings > Main Site > Call Handling > click on the Settings tab. Under Call/Fax/SMS Recipients, select an individual for the “Operator”.  Or, if you want multiple people to be able to send texts from the main number, you can select a call queue for the “Operator”

Hi!  Is this option available for call queues under the Main Site?  I’d like to choose a call queue (multiple people) as the SMS recipient instead of only one person.

Thank you!

This is a great question! The steps above are for sending out texts/SMS using the main number. For multiple users receiving SMS it will be under the Advanced SMS Inbox. I would highly recommend contacting your account manager to discuss this feature.
