The general call log details, meaning the basic history like who called, the time of the call, and how long it lasted, are kept in the system for up to 12 months.
So even though the actual audio recordings disappear after 90 days, you can still go back a full year to see the record of the call itself in your main history portal. Just a quick heads-up: if you use the Analytics Portal to look at specific performance charts, that data only goes back 6 months. But for standard, everyday call logs, you are good for the full year!
If your team needs to keep those audio recordings or older call logs for longer than our standard windows, I highly recommend setting up the RingCentral Archiver. It’s a built-in feature that automatically backs up your data (including call logs, voicemails, text messages, and recordings) directly to a cloud storage account like Google Drive, Dropbox, or Box so you never lose them.
Here are the official step-by-step guides from our Knowledge Base that break down exactly how our timelines work and how to set up the backup tool:
For setting up backups: Check out the Intro to RingCentral Archiver Guide to see how to connect your cloud storage.
For a complete list of system timelines: Take a look at the RingCentral Data Retention Policies article, which breaks down the exact lifespans for all types of data.
Let me know if you run into any questions while getting it connected! 😊
