Question

Irritating calling out of numbers when Ring Central now rings on iPhone

It seems as if just recently that when I now get a Ring Central call on my iPhone 8 that it calls out the numbers of the dialer (ring.. 9-7-6-4-5-2-8-8-0-2 and then repeats until I can pick it up.) It’s very irritating. Is there a way to change this?

It is only when I get Ring Central calls on my iPhone that this happens, not when just a direct call to my iPhone. So I don’t believe it’s my iPhone settings.

Please help. Before I pull out what little hair I have left.

Hey, Michael! Let’s help you not lose anymore hair!

Have you checked the iPhone’s “Announce Calls” feature?
It might have been enabled inadvertently.

How to Fix It (The iPhone Method)

  1. Open your iPhone Settings.

  2. Scroll down and tap Phone.

  3. Look for Announce Calls.

  4. Change this setting to Never.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi Becky.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

That is definitely one workaround, but I do kind of enjoy hearing a name when I get a call as that gives me a heads-up as to whether it’s a client who is in our system. Also, it helps identify callers who call me directly on my iPhone.

It was just the phone numbers being individually called out that brought me to tears.

If it comes down to no other option, then I will definitely use the “never announce calls” feature on my iPhone.

thanks again.

Sure, that makes sense. Let me poke around with my internal team to see if there are any other options here.
