Our Engineers go through the process of testing and confirming that phone firmwares will work with our system. Often times, we are quite a few releases behind what the manufacturers have released. You can upgrade to the latest release manually, like you did, but once your phone is rebooted (for any reason) it will often times revert back to the firmware that we have fully tested in our environment.
