On 4/20, RingCentral desk phones unexpectedly started showing coworkers’ call status. The issue was mitigated by setting “Allow other users to see my Presence status” to Off. What caused this behavior to change without prior notice?

I think they have been addressing some issues with MS Teams integration. If you have the MS Teams integration set up, it might have been the fix to the Teams think that made your pre-existing settings suddenly start working.
