search function for voice message

Help, in the new app (blue R instead of blue phone handle) there is no longer a search bar at the top so I have no way to search prior voice mail messages (by name from contacts or by #) as I was able in the old app. I called tech support and was told sorry there is no way to search messages. Is this true?
