Hello,

does anyone else has issue downloading calls recording in MP3 from RingCX?

Mine downloads in Microsoft Edge and can’t open link after.

    Hi @Aliya M,

Hi, I’d like to understand better on how you do it. Specifically, could you clarify these two points so we can pinpoint whether the issue is with the browser settings or the RingCX platform itself?

    • The "Link" Error: When you say you "can’t open the link after," does a specific error message pop up (like 403 Forbidden, Link Expired, or Access Denied)? Or does the download simply never start at all?

    • Alternative Browser Check: Have you had a chance to try the download in a different browser, like Chrome or Firefox? Knowing if it works elsewhere will tell us if this is an Edge-specific quirk or a broader system issue.

    1. No, it doesn’t give any error message it just stays blank on the page
    2. As a default we use Chrome browser in our practice. In Firefox it doesn’t give me option to download.

    2. As a default we use Chrome browser in our practice. In Firefox it doesn’t give me option to download.

That "blank page" behavior is a sign that the browser is trying to open a new tab to fetch the recording from a secure server (like Amazon S3, where RingCX audio is stored), but a security setting is "silently" blocking it from loading.

Since you mentioned you're usually on Chrome, let's fix the settings there first, as the "blank page" issue in Chrome and the "broken link" issue in Edge often share the same root cause.

    1. Fix the "Silent" Pop-up Block (Most Likely)

Chrome often blocks "automatic" downloads or redirects from CRM platforms without showing a clear warning.

    • Look at the far right of your address bar (where the website URL is).

    • Do you see a small icon that looks like a window with a red 'x' or a notification?

    • If so, click it and select "Always allow pop-ups and redirects from [Your RingCentral URL]".

    • Refresh the page and try the download again.

    2. Check for "Mixed Content" Blocks

Sometimes these recording links use http instead of https for the final file path, causing the browser to block it for security.

    • Click the Lock icon (or the "tune" icon) to the left of the URL in Chrome.

    • Select Site settings.

    • Scroll down to Insecure content and change the dropdown to Allow.

    • Reload the page and try the download.

    3. Disable "Safe Browsing" (Temporary Test)

Chrome’s security filter sometimes flags MP3 redirects from cloud storage as "suspicious."

    • Go to Settings (three dots) > Privacy and security > Security.

    • Temporarily select "No protection" and try the download. If it works, Chrome's filter was the culprit. (Make sure to turn "Standard protection" back on afterward!)
