Press 1 when on Call Queue - wants to remove it

7 replies

I've read through old posts on this subject but could not find an answer.

Has anyone figure out how to remove the "press 1" step when calls are forwarded to a cell phone?

i would like this answer too!

Hello,

There is no option to remove the "press 1 to answer" for Non-Ringcentral numbers. We can only turn it off when calls are forwarded to your app or deskphone. You may submit a feature request for this. Please specify that you want to have an option to remove "Press 1" for non-ringcentral numbers. For guide on how to submit, please read this article Submitting and Voting for Product Ideas

Is there plans down the road to make this an option?

The reason I ask, is because when we are not up front in our shop its nice it rolls over to a cell phone. GoogleVoice has this as an option.

Is there any update on this?   Requiring a “1” to answer makes it difficult for my receptionist.

@BluePalmetto

"Press 1 to Accept" is a requirement for call queues because it ensures that RC retains control of calls forwarded outside of RC (to the mobile of your receptionist for example).

This way if your receptionist doesn’t press 1, the call can be offered to the next member in the queue. Without “Press 1 to Accept” there is a chance the call gets lost if not answered.

Not sure if RC is working on or at least considering changing this behavior, but there is a good reason for it.

The solution is, as Mary mentioned above, to use RC apps - be it desktop, mobile or browser app. With the RC app you won’t get asked to press 1.
