Hi @dan-carmody,
The feature you're looking for is called RingCentral Video, and it's built right into your RingCentral app. It's a quick, unscheduled way to initiate a video call directly with a single person or a small group, similar to what you've described.
How to Make a Direct Video Call
You can start a direct video call with any of your internal colleagues who also use the RingCentral app. It's a one-on-one video conversation that doesn't require a meeting link or an appointment.
-
Open your RingCentral App (on desktop or web).
-
Navigate to the Messages tab.
-
Find or search for the name of the person you want to call.
-
Once in a direct message conversation with them, you'll see a video camera icon or a "Start Video" button in the upper-right corner.
-
Clicking this button will instantly start a video call with that person.
If you are already in an audio call, you can also seamlessly turn it into a video call with a single click.
This is a powerful tool for instantly connecting face-to-face with your remote colleagues, and it's distinct from a scheduled meeting. It's perfect for those quick conversations and check-ins.
