RingEX: Phone, SMS, & Fax

Texts are coming in broken and out of order. You literally have to "connect the dots" to figure out what is being said.Is this a way to charge us more with the new SMS charges? It's not very professional and if we have to submit this as a legal document, we have to "alter" it to make sense of what is being stated - which is not acceptable with legal discovery documents.

What is the reason the RC Meetings is being retired in favor of RC Video? I'm not opposed to the upgrade, I'm just curious why its happening and forcing me to do the uninstall/reinstall process. We are a small, 100% remote company and don't currently employ any device management technologies that would allow me to do this remotely (and automated) for our workforce.

According to this Desktop App support page, I can disable the Use Standalone Window For Phone Calls option in Settings. You can see by the below image that the option does not appear in my Desktop App Settings.How do I disable the Use Standalone Window For Phone Calls option?

No issues dialing out, but if I reach an auto-attendant, it does not hear my number selections. Only happens via my desktop app. RC tech support has not been able to help. Checked to make sure I've got most up to date version. Has anyone experienced this?

I am the receptionist for our firm. How do I transfer calls for people I know are on vacation directly to their voicemail from the Poly VVX450 desktop telephone?

When using the desktop application and attempting to transfer a call but the recipient isn't available to take the call - we have not found a way to keep the call live without it hanging up on all parties. Ex: I receive the call and attempt to transfer to Joe. Joe doesn't answer, or doesn't want to take the call. When I switch back to the caller, if Joe hangs up, it disconnects the call for everyone. If I click the small hang-up button next to Joe, it disconnects the call for everyone. If Joe's voicemail picks up while I've taken the call back, it disconnects the call for everyone. What are we missing on how to take that call back without it disconnecting??

Is there a methods to automatically remove card data from recorded phone calls for PCI compliance?

The Outlook plug-in is not allowing me to type an Outlook contact name that brings up a phone number. When I type a phone number, it doesn't link to its Outlook contact. When I go into the Outlook contact, it doesn't give me any option to use SMS or call using RingCentral. I am able to call out and receive calls and texts.

I created a new user, added a mobile phone number and checked "Publish in Company Directory" but the phone number is showing in the app. I have over 100 users that this works for but I can't figure out why this new user is only showing the extension in the company directory and not their mobile number. I have checked and unchecked the box a few time but it still doesn't work. I have compared this users profile with other who do show their mobile number in the directory and everything is setup the same. I think there is something wrong on Ring centrals end. How do I get this resolved?

Starting last week (around 7/5/23), I started receiving complaints that HUD status's are incorrect. It will show someone as in a call but then their status changes to "offline" when the call disconnects instead of "available".I've also received complaints that HUD contacts were wiped out and had to be re-added.I submitted a ticket but I'm curious if this was widespread or just our organization.

Does anyone know if RC will have a Voice Prompted IVR anytime soon?

I set up a new RingCentral account for a client, and purchased a Poly VVX 250 hardphone directly from RC. We currently have only one extension, which has been assigned to the VVX 250. It is using the power supply shipped with the phone, and is NOT using POE power.Everything except outgoing calls from the Poly phone seem to work fine, includiing FAXes in both directions, incoming voice calls to the Poly phone and unanswered calls that go to voicemail.Outgoing calls from the Poly phone fail about 80-90% of the time, receiving an immediate intercept message, indicating that the call can not be completed. A few outgoing calls DO complete, but it's not predictable. Even repeated calls to the same number will fail multiple times, then will complete on the 4th, 5th or 6th try. Doesn't matter what number or area code you dial. Doesn't matter whether you dial a "1" first, or not.RC's Q-O-S statistics are consistently good, in the 95% range. This failed call behavior

In the Admin Portal the Auto Receptionist is setup to send calls to a Call Queue. At times we want to forward all company calls to an external number but when enabling Forward all company calls there is not an option to forward to an external number. How can you Forward all company calls under the Auto Receptionist to an external number?

We have discovered that you can dial anyone's extension in the Ring Central System from an IVR Menu Announcement. Is there a way that this feature can be disabled in the Ring Central Admin Portal? We have told our staff that the dial by extension feature was not available in Ring Central and now we have discovered that this is not the case. You can dial anyone's extension including Message Only Extensions and Announcement Only Extensions from inside an IVR menu. We would like to disable this feature. Is there a way that the dial by extension feature in an IVR Menu can be disabled?

My TCR campaign has been approved, when I added two numbers, they have now been in provisioning for four days. The instructions say 10-15 minutes. I can not delete them or change them in any way. I have called SMS support and they have had a work order since yesterday morning with no follow-up. This process is pathetic and for new customers signing on, they need to be made aware their texting capabilities can be compromised for a month. Given that information before signing on, I doubt I would have chosen Office At Hand.

We have a user that sometimes work remote. He has 2 desktops along with 2 headsets. When he makes an outgoing call there is no dial tone. when the person he calls answers neither knows any call was answered until the last minute. We tested new headsets, ran driver/windows updates. This only happens when working from home. In office it is fine. I tried clearing the cache, and reinstalling the web version.Through both Max agent and ringcentral through chrome, the music plays when making a call then stops. Not sure what else to try. There is no setting i can find regarding this. any ideas?

Alright some on completely stock oneui 5.1 (android 13) on Samsung s23 Ultra and the ring central app doesn't work well with YouTube and other media apps. The app will ring and show its call screen then if I was watching any media it will automatically pause it which is fine but after I answer the call and hang up or if I ignore the call the media app just completely stops behaving correctly. They won't resume at all sometimes, sometimes I can't close the app and can't open any other app (reboot is necessary to fix), sometimes audio doesn't return to the video, and sometimes everything just is normal. It's not consistent but it is consistently annoying. I've tried clearing the data and uninstalling and reinstalling the apps (ring central and YouTube plus other media apps). Idk if it has anything to do with it but I use work profile to have my work accounts separate from my personal accounts so idk if that has anything to do with it. And I'd rather not in

I have configured the settings to pass the incoming phone number as a parameter and launch a search in our CRM via URL string. This works great AS LONG AS it was a direct incoming call and not a WARM TRANSFER. Our prior phone system (Mitel) ignored internal calls for their CRM screen pop url string. How can I set this to ignore internal calls from other extensions and only trigger AFTER the call has been transferred?

We used to be able to collapse the message panel. Now, whether folder view is on or off, the message panel is fixed. That real estate is VERY valuable, especially in work from home setups. Can we bring back the old collapsable message panel?

I'm using RingCentral Labs - Enhanced Business SMS. When I send a message with the word "test" it always sends, and when I tried multiple different versions of text w/ characters less than 160 and it will not send. Any idea why it sends for some messages but not others?

Has anyone been experiencing an uptick of dropped calls while using the mobile application while on cellular data.We have had an increase in complaints about the mobile app dropping calls after a couple seconds after answering the calls in the past month or so. While using Wifi in our locations everything is fine.These users have been using the mobile app for the past few years and it seems like we have had a large amount of drops in the past month.

I see the city in my mobile app the person is calling from and not their phone number for caller ID. If I view missed calls afterwards, I can see the missed call's phone number. I don't need to see the city a call is coming from, I need to see their number. How do I fix this?

1) Will all my customer numbers in my Ring Central Contact that I communicate with already through SMS be already opted in for SMS . 2) Will RingCentral have an Opt in form that records the customer response to be opted in? 3) For customers that require to be opted in, where and who do I send their opt in data response to?

Can we use MMS using SMS bundle? what is will be the tax if we use 5000 messages from SMS bundle on $42.50? is there any validity/expiration period for SMS bundle package?
