RingEX: Phone, SMS, & Fax

We are TCR registered to be able to send text messages, when applying for our brand we submitted specific use cases to be able to send text messages containing a URL so our business partners can log their location with us. Recently RingCentral has blocked these from going out, originally stating URL shortner was not compliant but we are not using a shortner. It turns our RingCentral is marking these as SPAM and will not send out. Has anyone else experienced this issue where RC blocks outbound text? Does anyone have any experience with having ring central "whitelist" these text so they send? Its frustrating as we spend 6 months getting TCR approved only to have this happen.

Are there any features or apps that would allow us to set alerts/notifications that would trigger and notify our techs in some way when the length of their calls reach a specified time limit?

Hello, we got an email from RingCentral saying we need to allow an certain IP range though out firewall for performance purposes. If we are using fax only services, can someone tell me if we need to do this? Thank you.

Here's the setup. Our company hosts many websites for clients. Each website has it's own phone number. We have about 15 phone numbers.Question: Why can't Ring have a setting to display a name of the number being called when a call comes through?For Example: if a customer calls for the hotdog storefront, when a call comes through, it will say its from the HOTDOG STOREFRONT. If a different customer calls, and it's for the ice cream storefront, the popup would say ICE CREAM STOREFRONT. This would just take place of the phone number that's displayed.Again, this would display the name we set for OUR phone numbers. So that WE know which storefront is being called. Does this make sense? Could this be implemented?I've seen questions about this from 2014. It seems silly that nothing has been implemented yet. Ring would probably make more money if they had this functionality.Thanks,

An attorney is on an outgoing call and the receptionist receives another incoming call asking to speak to him/her. When he/she buzzes the attorney's extension, it goes right to voicemail if he/she is on an outgoing call. How can the receptionist buzz the attorney and announce the call, have him place his current call on hold and pick up the new call.

Sometimes the callee doesn't hear me but I can hear him. Win11, Plantronics Hub 3.25.0 Build 37131. Sometimes it helps to change the settings from "Default - Headset..." to "Headset..." and vice versa but not always. Any idea?

Hello all,I am trying to find out if there is such a thing as a standalone sidecar? We are looking to use the ringcentral app more, but the receptionists do not like the HUD as they have to scroll to see everyone, versus the sidecar is a quick glance.Thanks!

We are currently trying to upgrade users to RingCentral 23.2 for Windows 10. For context, I am the application packager and am deploying the application through SCCM with a powershell script that performs an uninstall of all previous versions and then installs the new versions.In the process of doing this, and in the last few upgrades that were done (to 23.1.1, and 23.4, etc) we are encountering issues where the users are prompted to deauthorize the application on their computer. This is occurring even though the user device have not changed- it's an upgrade on the same hardware, same computer name, same identifiers, etc as the previous version.Could you please tell me how we can get the version upgraded without the user being required to deauthorize on the same device, or provide more technical information about this issue and how to resolve it? I have tried logging a case online but I am getting an error "Something went wrong. Please reload the page or try again later.&quot

Unwanted Caller, reaches main company number at the reception desk. Who has actual reception phone (Yealink T46S) and Office@Hand Desktop App. She blocks the number = works fine (except there is a 30 phone number limit). Does not work when she does not answer the phone and the call goes to her two backups. One backup has a T42S and the other uses desktop application. When the call is routed to them, does not show a caller-ID and as a result they can not add this unwanted phone number to their own block lists.

Is there a way to dial calls from the ring central desktop application and have them ring out through our desk phones? We would like to better leverage our Contacts in RC and the chrome extension but everyone on the team has a desk phone, and we'd like to still utilize them. The only solution we have found is call flipping, but the calls can’t be flipped from the desktop to the desk phone until it connects, leaving customers on hold while we fumble to select the right phone and pick it up. Is there a solution that will automatically flip the call once dialed or to run the call through the connected desk phone instead of the softphone?

I have to remove the "missed calls" manually, because they don't vanish after the call is returned.

Our team is getting overwhelmed when they receive a fax notification on their "Desk" phones. We know we can change the notifications to mark it as "read" in Ringcentral Inbox but how to avoid getting any FAX notification on Desk phone? We are fine with just Email notification.

In the last week we have been unable to search a phone number on the Call Log screen. Using the 'search number' field, nothing comes up. Did a setting change? What is causing this?

outside users send text message to ringcentral softphone user line which is attached to personal cell phone. outside user gets message that "message could not be delivered to this non-wireless number". ringcentral user is set up similar to all other users. why is text not being forwarded to cell phone?

It seems the latest update of the RC App now pushes a green circle about Cookie settings. It will not go away no matter what you select. It is covering / blocking the Help menu option too, and we cannot move it. How do we get rid of it for everyone? Forcing this to sit there was a very bad design idea.

Audio issue during first 10 to 15 seconds caller hear agent broken audio. Audio is recovers after the time frame. Wave signal show agent audio is amplify without the agent doing anything.

Employees want to rest the headset on their shoulder and talk. All the generic shoulder rests we purchased are too big and don't stick well to the thin headset. Has anyone purchased anything that works?

I am attempting to change a user license from mobile to MVP but keep her phone number. When attempting to add the MVP license it add two number vs just the current one. This effort is because currently the soft phone only works on he mobile device. At this time we only want her to use her laptop. When attempt to make a call she get the following message: "Sorry, you can only make calls to your coworkers'...". My thoughts are to change her licensing enabling the soft phone.

Does anyone know of a plug-in that would allow for auto-replies to text/sms? It is a feature that RingCentral seems to not value very high on building in themselves.

I have a client that accidently opt'd out and texted STOP, how do i re-opt-in this clients mistake? Have them text "START" on the same sms they replied "STOP" too?

We are sending a 1 page fax to a public (non-Ring Central) fax number that prints multiple copies sometimes as many as 44 times when it is received on the other end. Has anyone ever encountered this issue in the past and if so were you able to resolve it and how did you resolve it?

I get a message box every time our phones go down that says, "Error - Line Unregistered". When I click on details, I get a message that says my line is (not registered). This is happening to all 6 of our phone lines. Calls are dropping and we are losing customers.

Have a bit of a weird one. Have a client that directs their incoming faxes to their main Call Queue. They have a handful of employees who login with the RC Phone app to the Call Queue account to manage the fax queue. Then they login to their personal RC accounts in the desktop RingCentral App. But suddenly, all faxes started routing to the Super Admin. We checked the settings, and faxes direct to the Company Default Fax Recipient, which is the IVR which directs to the main Call Queue extension. So we set the fax destination explicitly to the main Call Queue extension. Now the first person in the Call Queue list gets the faxes. They don't show up in the Call Queue account. I know RC Phone is going away, so that may be why. But how can we keep their functionality (directing faxes to multiple people) I saw multiple feature requests for this but no real direction. Sending Fax Notifications via email to a shared email box would work - but their email provider doesn't support shared

We've integrated RingCentral with Zoho. As a result, I can hover over the Phone icon in a CRM record, and the phone icon will change to the icon and the word, "Call" when I hover over the icon.However, when I hover over the phone icon for the mobile number field, it only provides the "Call" option, not a "Text" option. Accordingly, I have two questions.1. How can I initiate a text message from Zoho CRM and have it record the call record, just as it does if I were to initiate a phone call from within CRM?2. When using the Mac version of the RC desktop client, I can't search for the names of contacts in my CRM to initiate a text message, only an RC message. Is such integration possible?Texting from RC by transcribing the mobile number fro CRM to RC seems archaic and error-prone. If telephone calls are integrated, I expect text messaging to be, too.
