RingEX: Phone, SMS, & Fax

Entered in contacts into the directory and assigned them to a line however it is only showing one name for all lines.

I haven't found any information about how to simply forward all calls to my cell phone instead of them going to my "office phone" or "virtual phone number," or whatever it's considered. I am thinking it's not possible because surely it would be one of the first asked question. I'm very confused. I will never use the office number and i have now found out that i have messages from a month ago in the queue. i just want to bypass that number completely - people can call it but it needs to forward to my cell and there when i type in this question, nothing is at all pertinent. I hope i can do that.... thank you. Barry

I have a user who picks up her department's main extension/number on her extension. She has it setup as a presence and the department number is also set to forward to her RC number. When the department number is called her physical phone rings like normal, but her cell and desktop apps don't ring. She can see the call history of the call coming in for the department number in her app call history, but it never rings to give her a chance to pick it up. If I ring an unused call queue that she is a part of or her direct extension then it rings her apps correctly. I did notice that her user profile didn't have the softphone device linked to her account even though she is logged in and using the apps. Is it possible that the "missing" softphone entry is causing this problem?

Clicking the button Log to Hubspot in the RingCentral phone widget does not seem to be working. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hello RC Community, Can anyone point me in the right direction? As I am trying to pull contact properties from RC to our HubSpot CRM, e.g., CRM is missing phone number for the majority of our contacts, but RC seems to have that missing field. It would need to update base on identifying the correct person in both databases. Not sure if this is possible but I thought I would seek some help within the community.All the best,

Is anyone else currently experiencing delays in receiving email notifications In Outlook for voicemails? Yesterday was a 7 hour delay and today it's over an hour

We are experiencing intermittent delays in voicemail email notifications. I double-checked our server and we have Whitelisted the notification email address as well as RingCentral's domain name. Has anyone else experienced this issue and were you able to correct the problem? Is this a known problem with the voicemail email notification feature?

When will the European market have the option to display the Company Caller ID name as the main caller ID, I have been told by RC support that at present this is a US option only?

Years ago I signed up for a Ring Central limited fax-only account for $10/year. During the entire period of my subscription I have used the fax service only a handful of times. Last year, charges appeared on my account for (unanswered) phone calls. So far the charges have added up to almost $40. Last Fall, a service rep promised to refund one of the charges but the credit never made it to my credit card. I've since found a setting to block all calls but not at all sure that this will stop the additional charges. Needless to say I am frustrated, If I can't get this resolved soon I will have to cancel my account and re-do my business cards without the fax number. Probably should have done this after the first overcharge.

With the new ringcentral app having everything in one place, how can we get the company fax and be able to send messages or glips as individuals and not from the company account? We were using 2 apps before, but now with it all in one app, we either have to log in as the company or personal line, can not do both

We have set a users extension up to simultaneously ring another users extension so it can be answered if the user is unavailable. We have found that doing this through call handling will only ring the desk phone of the user that it is being forwarded to and not the desktop or mobile app. Support says that is the expected behavior which makes no sense to me.. If the desk phone can ring, why is the mobile app and desktop app not ringing. Does anyone know a workaround for this other than using IVR and call queues?

When we transition between employees or reorganize roles in our company, at times one person may need to assume more than one extension. We find that verifying the uniqueness of an email is a road block.Recommendation: Remove the requirement that each extension has a unique email address.

I want to be able to have my deskphone ring first, then if I don't it moves to my softphone app on my phone. But I am unable to move the softphone to anything other than 1. This really restricts the usage of the entire app and adds a level of annoyance.Please let me know how to fix this, or change it in the next update.

Hi RC Developers,We are currently having issues with the new RC app. We arent able to pause and unpause a recording or mask a certain part of the conversation in a recorded call. We need that feature working for us.

I manage our internal knowledgebase for the office, and need to update the RingCentral guides. I see that there are two ways in the mobile app to stop any incoming calls from ringing on the cell phone. You can turn on "Silence Incoming Calls" or select "Do Not Disturb". What is the difference between the two? Are there advantages of one over the other? I know users will ask, and I haven't found an answer on the RingCentral support site. Turning on DND is the easier option, but I just wanted to get a solid answer on what the differences/advantages are (if any).Thanks.

Hello,My team has noticed today that no one seems to be able to receive text messages. Outbound texts seem to be working. This appears to be impact numbers outside and inside the organization and is reproducible by multiple users.

Help! Replacing a Viking analog door box that connected to a co line port of a digital system. Does anyone have a recommendation on a replacement that will work on RingCentral? We have allocated a Standard license to this. We have wired network cable to this exterior location. Has anyone installed a Viking E20 IP ? Thanks!

We noticed starting a few months ago that some calls that come in through our ring central number sometimes drop or no audio comes through and they hang up. We didn't notice it in the beginning, thinking they were those drop robocalls, but sometimes they were potential clients. We use the local network Cox, with a Netgear router. The 2 landline phones we use are connected to the router through ethernet cables, and 1 mobile phone that uses the app. We don't think know if it is the network, because when a call comes through and is answered through mobile, the call still drops and he has to call them back. It didn't do that before, which is why we caught on now, because now even incoming calls on the mobile get dropped. No changes have been made in the time we have used Ring Central. I've tried diagnosing the issue using the resources already on Ring Central, but troubleshooting and checking the ISP has not shown any problems on our end.This is only through incoming calls,

Just went live on RC with ported number on 1/20/2020. Am using Mail app in macOS. Have turned on email notifications with transcribed text and audio recordings.Mail app has a built in mp3 player that shows play/stop and sound level controls, and how long the audio is.  Email notifications from RC regarding changes to the account play fine in the Mail app. Email notifications from RC with voicemail from incoming calls show Error instead of the iconic triangular play button. But you can download and play from the Macs desktop the mp3 file from the same email that shows Error, so the mp3 file is ok. If use webmail to look at the email, can also download the mp3 there as well.  If look at same email on another Mac with Mojave Mail app also has same Error issue.  Have US RC account. Using macOS Mojave latest updates 10.14.6. Affects one user but only have one user account (small non-profit), so affects all users.

I have called several times the transfer/port customer service to no avail. I have attempted to create a transfer ticket and it has been rejected. I have asked our account manager to assist and he states its out of his area. What next?

I recently updated the RingCentral app on my Windows 10 desktop. Since the update, all lines (direct dial and main number) in the office (14 lines) ring on my phone. Also, if I answer a call on my Plantronics headset, I can not transfer calls to another extension. I have to put the call on hold, pick up the call from the handheld and then transfer. I am the person all calls funnel through when they dial the main number. This is a very irritating.

If an SMS has the "Delivered" status, does that mean that it for sure got to their phone? Or at that point, could it still be blocked by the carrier? I have an instance of someone not getting SMS while the status says "Delivered."

How do you text from your rc main line from email?

Hello,For Call & Handling > Custom Rules > , under condition, I can't grasp the difference and how to use Caller ID and Called Number. When I selected Caller ID, I typed in a name of an employee who have an extension, nothing pop up. When I click add, it have a string of 5 digits. If this identify the person, how does it know that person without their last name?
