RingEX: Phone, SMS, & Fax

Is it possible to get a fax confirmation page that shows the first page you sent like most regular machines do? This is helpful for proof of fax and to show exactly what was sent. All I get is an email saying a fax was sent. That's helpful, but doesn't provide much proof to the recipient if they deny they received a certain document.

Ring Central Classic allows you to drag and drop documents when faxing. The new RingCentral app requires you to click the paperclip button and browse to the file location to attach it to the fax.How is it that as time goes by RingCentral gets worse instead of better? The decision to retire the old app was a collosal mistake when it offers reduced functionality compared to the "new" version.I know the canned response because I've seen it on other posts. "If you want to keep using the old app contact your account manager..." Yeah, good luck with that. My account manager won't even return my emails. Last time I needed something I had to contact her manager to get an issue resolved.

I'm told by support that if an incoming call that goes to a call queue and then is answered and forwarded to another user from there, it treats the call as a new call in the call log and strips caller ID and replaces it with the main company number.This seems like the most basic setup a decent size company could have. Someone calls in to an IVR, they push 0 to get to an operator. This sends them to a call queue of available operators to answer. They pick up and act as a receptionist and decide to forward the call to me internally. As soon as they do this, the original caller id is stripped from the call. So on my end it looks like my main company number is calling me. Even if the caller leaves a voicemail, I have no caller ID from them.I'm told by one support rep that this is a feature. I can't believe this doesn't effect more customers. I've dealt with countless phone systems being in IT and this seems crazy to me. Does anyone have any work arounds?

Hi,New to RC.User1 needs a second handset for occasional home-office use. It must have the same inbound number and extension number as User1's existing phone at the main office.I want to re-allocate an existing unused phone from User2 to User1.I am having trouble in the admin portal trying to assign the existing inbound number to the second phone.What am I missing?Thasnks,FT

We are using the Yealink T48S desk phones. When someone starts dialing a number, if there is more than a 2 second delay in finishing the number, the phone auto dials what is already there. The call of course then doesn't go through. Using information found on the internet, I found where I am supposed to be able to increase that time. However, it's not working. Anyone have any thoughts or have dealt with this themselves?

Based on the KB: RingCentral Corporate Directory Feature for Polycom Phones I am having to assume that the LDAP Directory will not work with any devices besides Polycom.Can anyone confirm / deny this?I'm digging deep with yealink to see how to manually add an LDAP to their phones and I'll attach the screenshot of what the GUI gives for options.I'm hoping to find some solution as the client migrated over from 3CX which had a phonebook soft key and now they only have a dir key with no working directory unless it is done manually.TIA,Jacob

Looking for a way to add external contact to my Polycom Deskphone VVX350

The issue begins with a person receiving a phone call through a call queue. In the time between when the phone starts ringing and they pickup the call, the caller begins typing an extension. Before the caller finishes dialing the extension, the call is picked up. The call is answered and then gets routed to someone else in the company. However the person who first picked up the call is stuck. In the corner of the RC Phone app and mobile RC Glip app it shows "Switch Call to This Device". However when they click that, nothing happens. In the HUD it shows that person on a call. But they are unable to actually pickup the call and it interferes with other call functions. This happens on both mobile and desktop softphone.This continues even after they quit the app and relaunch. Even after they uninstall and re-install. And even after deactivating their account and re-activating.Per Tier 3 support, this is a known issue per Bug File CNV-37586.

Not entirely sure if this a RC issue or Windows, but when on Windows you have an incoming call, a toast notification pops up, but disappears very quickly, while it's still ringing (so it's not just the other person hanging up). Is there a way to change the length of time the notification pops up for?While I remember, the option to answer/ignore would be good on the notification itself (thinking a la Teams).

According to Eduardo in RC Support, "Unfortunately, we don't have any options to turn that off from the RC App".Here's my feature request: only prompt me if I don't have a physical location in my settings, otherwise don't prompt, annoying.

My understanding is that with the RC SMS feature, a user can text a client/customer and it will come from that specific user's direct number.We are a law firm that screens ALL calls coming into our attorney's phones. We want our attorneys to be able to text their clients, but do not want the clients to be able to call that number back. Has anyone solved a similar problem?I was thinking that maybe any inbound call to the attorney's number from out of office could be forwarded to the operator but I am not sure how to do that. Also open to other solutions. Thank you!

currently using call que groups and after 15 minutes of someone waiting on hold they are sent to voicemail.  it causes the customers frustration.  they do not want to wait on hiold for 15 minutes and then be sent to voicemail.  is there way to add more minutes or turn the option off so no one goes to voicemail during office hours

I'm training new staff for the first time in several years; and we're using the Ring Central Desktop App which is nice.  But, it doesn't have HUD.  This feature is ESSENTIAL when training telephone support staff.  Especially now that no one is in the same office with anyone else.  It's absolutely ESSENTIAL to be able to monitor who's on a call and then to "monitor" that conversation so managers can coach or take over the call.  I installed the old Ring Central Phone App along side the new one for now.  But, please add HUD to the Ring Central Desktop App.

I am currently using the message store export (/restapi/v1.0/account/~/message-store-report) to generate exports for fax and sms. Under normal circumstances, this will generate 2 zip files (one with the report logs in json format, and one with the attachments). Due to the nature of our app, we only need the report logs in json format, and not the attachments. Is there a way to create a message store export without the attachments?I realize that I can just ignore the attachments on my end. But the real reason behind this is to speed up the report generation on the RingCentral side. Sometimes we export a report for the date range of a week or a month, and it takes close to an hour if not longer. I don't know how it works behind the scenes, but my suspicion is that the long waiting times are due to the large amount of content (attachments) that are being streamed into the zip file. I use Ringcentral for Windows and some of my contacts synced and some did not. On the iPhone app all contacts synced. I use chrome not outlook. How can I get the rest of my contacts to sync in the windows app?U.S. Version 8.0.4.20112

It would be very efficient if there was a feature where the Ringcentral user is able to download all the pictures sent through Ringcentral by the customer. It is very time-consuming when the user has to go to each picture one by one to download the picture.

Hello,I tried to integrate RingCentral with Salesforce, I installed the package in Salesforce, I set up my username to be able to use it, I set up the softphone layout, everything is working fine with the outbound calls, but with the inbound calls, I just see they are coming in, but I am not able to pick it up because there is no button to answer.I just see the call is answered in another device, but I cannot answer it myself using salesforce and the ringcentral app in SFIs there something I am missing? maybe a setting?Ring Central Version 6.10I'm using AT&T Office @ Hand Phone number.We have physical phones installed, but now we want to use salesforce as well.Example of what I cannot see when there is an inbound call.

1. Account Type: US2. Related Case Number: 060659303. I am having an issue with my HUD not displaying extensions presence correctly. Some users show as having multiple calls, others showing as being on the line when I know they're not, others show that their extension is ringing when it's not. It's causing a lot of miscommunication and missed calls. This has been an issue before, we called and created a case number but now it seems to be happening again. I have already gone through all the network configurations and checked all the settings on the routers and firewalls. 4. When we try to get our voicemails, we get a busy signal. *86 or pressing the message button gets us a busy signal. Any suggestions?

Having the error at its start up "E911 service is Limited" and later an icon on top right appears saying you can not make or recieve call ?

Hello, I have an issue with Ring Central where every outbound call I attempt to place does not show in the app. Yet the call goes ahead. I can hear the call ringing, but no screen shows up telling me I am on an active call - I cannot put the call down, or mute or anything. If I press the green phone button again, all it does is statrt a new call on top of the existing call. I then get cut off a call 1-2 minutes in. Please can you help?I am running RingCentral App on iphone

Are your call group queues working as expected? We have many queues with 2 or more call members in them. When a customer dials a group direct number the call is placed on the call queue but none of the available members' extensions ring whether the member has mobile and desktop enabled in call handling or not. There aren't any custom rules created.I have gone through tiers 1 and 2 with RingCentral support. I've contacted my Sr. CSM, spent hours waiting on the phone, sent emails. Nothing. The issue is now 24 hours old.Have you experienced similar?Do you have any contacts in tier 3?

Hello! We have been getting calls to our main line (no extension) but they do not leave a message, or leave a few seconds of blank message. They are not clients or leads of ours and appear from area codes across the US. Has anyone else had this issue? Are these likely automated telemarketing calls? Is there a do not call list I can enter? Thanks! Our number has been posted publicly on our site for a few years. This has been a problem for the past year. I realize five calls a day might not be a nuisance for some, but we receive a small call volume and our Director has stopped answering calls altogether because most of them are "fake".
