Request for option to have messages marked as "Read" when seen by recipient

I would like to have an option to have my messages to others marked as "Read" in the conversation when they are seen by the recipient. Thank you!

Task Conversation posts Disappearing from Tasks and Team

Multiple tasks across multiple teams in our organization are losing messages in the conversations of task. We are also losing the updates that crossposted into the corresponding posts in the appropriate teams. Are there expiration periods on the posts in a task's conversation or is there a known bug where these disappear? We had been using the conversation panel or tasks extensively so it would be a big issue to have to switch to attachments or some other workaround. Example here. The red line represents an area where originally the task had a posted update, but the text is now missing both from this area AND from the team chat. Thank you,

Feature Request: Mark a message as important or urgent

My company using Ring Central messaging all day long, which is great, however it would be really nice if folx could flag a message they're posting in Glip to be urgent/important. Ideally, that would make the icon in the tray flash or pop-up and trigger an automatic email if the message isn't responded to within a minute or so. I know this is a feature you can do with Teams and we're struggling to make the case for using RC instead of teams. This would go a long way for our users adopting the tool.

where is Post Message by email to User

Whats happened to the feature of allowing external emails to message a use?, by simply adding clip.com to the persons Glip email address, eg if a persons login email is cheech@company.com anyone could (depend on settings) send an email to cheech@company.com.glip.com and the messaged would arrive in Cheech's Ring Central app messages. I see that this has been applied to teams, using this kind of email address 211912341302@1223830561.mvp.ringcentral.com so external users can email it. (although RC have done a very good job of hiding this feature from users so its not easily found) This was a handy feature in glip. Not sure why it would be removed considering RC saw fit to retain it for Teams

Acknowledgement for getting fax

We want to send auto acknowledgement text sms to the sender who send Fax something like "We recieved your fax. Thank you". Any way to turn it on?

Group messages from same sender in new app

US NA How can we group messages from the same sender in the new RC app? Currently they display on a new line with the same name. RC Classic performed this but when testing in new app then the messages are not combined 20.2 450

RSV Calendar Migration Tool - existing links already sent

When using the calendar migration tool, my understanding is that this will update links the tool finds in the RCV users calendar. Does the RCV user then need to update the invite so the recipient will get the updated link? If an invite was already sent prior to running the tool and switching to RCV is the recipients link automatically updated? The internal steps are pretty straight forward. I'm wondering how this works for those who have already been invited with a RCM link. Thanks,

Keeping external accounts from attempting to message our users?

Is there any way to block attempts by people from outside of our organization to chat with our users through Glip? We have our tenant restricted so that only admins can invite new users by setting up an account for them through the admin portal, but we've had people create free Glip accounts and then attempt to send messages to our users by using their email addresses. When this happens, the admins on our tenant get an email saying "<email address> would like to be invited to RingCentral. Please go to the People page on RingCentral and click on the Invite People button at the top of the page to invite them." There should really be an option to disable this - we will never want to allow outside people to access our messaging. We can disable SMS messaging with a switch; this should be a no brainer option.

Feature Request - Remove Message Tab Completely for Specific Users

Currently, customers have the option to hide the Message tab in the RingCentral app and remove it from the main navigation, however, it is still accessible in the More menu. If they want to disable the Message function completely, they would have to disable messaging for the entire account. Can we make it possible to remove the Message functionality completely for specific users through roles/permissions? Please review Support ticket #12428938 as a use case.

Mute Notifications Inside Ring Central App for Selected Conversations?

We use the Ring Central App for Windows Desktop (21.3.30) as well as the Ring Central App for Android and IOS. In looking through community posts, I haven't been able to find an answer to this question: Is it possible to selectively stop app notifications (the little red dots with or without numbers) for certain less important conversations or teams in the application? Or set them to an equivalent of Do Not Disturb? In other words, I am a member of multiple teams that I wish to monitor. But I have little need or desire to see the little notification dot every time someone posts something into the conversation. If someone posts into one of our watercooler groups that they had a tuna salad sandwich for lunch, I don't need to see the little notification bubbles, particularly on my taskbar. I've looked at the notification settings for these conversations, but the settings all seem to be about external notifications, and not notifications from the apps themselves. Am I missing something? Or

What are the option as a super admin in RingCentral admin portal to get access of all text messages of all the extension created? Can admin access or see messages of any other extensions?

How do I view scheduled meetings in the new RingCentral Desktop App? In the RingCentral Meetings app, there was a tab for "Meetings" where I could see all recurring and scheduled meetings.

Glip Chat wont automatically show reply

My team and I noticed recently that while chatting, the page dont seem to scroll down automatically giving the impression that the person you are chatting to has not responded yet. You have to manually scroll down to reveal the newly arrived messages. Any has this same observation?

code snippets are ridiculously small after migrating from glip to ringcentral I cannot be enraged. Now I have to copy the content into some editor in order to read the content I need them to be readable as they're in glip. Is there any option for enraging them?

Task sorting

Hello, We highly utilized task sorting (specifically by color) in RC classic in the right pane in team view and I noticed in another topic which was closed a lot of other users asked for this. This funcationality is gone in the new app and its a total mess looking at tasks in team view all randomly listed. Is this feature planned for new RC? Seems pretty basic, if we can tag tasks with colors, we should be able to sort them by color too. Regards

Post-app-retirement: RingCentral Meetings Plugin vs RingCentral Scheduler Add-in

Our company is preparing for the retirement of the old RingCentral app, and one thing we need to know is, which (if not both/neither) of the 2 Outlook integrations will still function with the new app? I currently have the RingCentral Scheduler add-in from Outlook's add-in list. Meanwhile my boss uses the RingCentral Outlook Plugin that you download from Will one or both of these still function? One of my colleagues was told by a rep that they would need to update any recurring meetings scheduled for after August 3rd, but that's all I know at the moment.

Takes 3 minutes for app to open on PC,Takes 3 minutes for the RingCentral app to open

It is taking about 3 minutes for your app to open now on my PC. This is happening to other people in my office as well too. Why? , It is now taking about 3 minutes for this app to open every morning on my PC. This is not just on my computer other people in my office are also having this same issue.

Add waiting room to scheduled meeting

I have a meeting scheduled where I originally opted to NOT have a waiting room. I'd like to change that not to having a waiting room. While I followed instructions on how to edit scheduled meetings, when I followed those instructions, I could not see scheduled meetings and opt to edit them. (https://support.ringcentral.com/article/updating-scheduled-ringcentral-meetings-session-ringcentral-app-desktop-web.html) The "Show" option was missing in the upper right quadrant. I am running Version: 21.3.10.576 Web, 21.3.10.1515 Mac Can you help?

Ring Central App not opening

The RingCentral app is continuously looping at startup, just keeps acting like it wants to open, but never does. Anyone else seeing this or know of a fix? We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it's not working. Currently have about 5 users experiencing the issue No issues on the android or apple apps.

RingCentral App: User vs Computer mode installations

The RingCentral App can be installed with an EXE (user mode) or an MSI (computer mode). Unfortunately, both can be installed. We only want the MSI installed.One of our other vendors uses an MSI for installing, but is capable of doing user and computer mode installations, interactive and unattended. A single installer would make it easier to only allow a single installation of the app in user mode or computer mode.
