Team Chat, Calendar, & Tasks

There's a lot of features I do not want my users to have access to. Is there a way to remotely limit them? Like I don't need tasks or calendar abilities on the mobile app.

I've tried this but it doesn't work because there's no "delete message" option.Open the conversation that contains the message you wish to edit from the Message tab. Long press (tap and hold) on the message to be edited.

Would it be possible to develop the option to enable or disable editing/deleting posts in Ring Central Messaging? I need to stop users from deleting and editing what they wrote.

Regarding the Glip Compliance Export, can a tool be created on RingCentral to easily view and search the data in the files? This would allow customers to easily view the data and be able to generate a report for example.

With the introduction of the new all in one RingCentral app, admins can no longer delete Glip-only users on our account that are not tied to a RC phone extension.This is a huge security problem. When a user leaves the company, there's no way to prevent them from continuing to use RingCentral via their Glip-Only login. Even if I delete their email from our organization, it's still a functional login for RingCentral. Short of granting myself permissions to the terminated user's email and then sending a self-reset, I have no way to manage/disable these users.This option still exists in the Classic app. We've been advised that Classic will be retired soon (May?) so there is some real urgency here...

Support Request regarding Tasks in Glip - It's nice that you can create tasks, but the conversation system is NOT useful when it comes to messaging other team members about a task. There really needs to be a way to REPLY to a task and have a specific comment or text thread that corresponds with TASKS not just conversations.

Recently we changed our Message Retention policy from "Keep all messages" to retain only the last 90 days. The process to purge messages runs nightly according to RC documentation. However, any messages created before the date of the policy change do not get removed. I've opened a ticket with RC and the response is that only messages created AFTER the date of the policy change will be affected. In addition, I've been told by RC that they do not have a way to delete old messages but there "MAY" be a way for a site superadmin to delete messages. I'm interested in removing messages older than 90 days and then let the message retention policy do the work going forward. Does anyone know how to delete old messages?

Hi! I have a user's missed calls section set to go to an IVR menu where a caller can subsequently choose if they'd like to hold, be transferred to a different user, or be transferred to that user's voicemail. I'm testing and I've chosen the voicemail option. The voicemail message plays, but I cannot leave a voicemail. Any way to fix this?

How do I turn off SMS messaging. I do not want to receive SMS nor do I ever send SMS. I need to opt out of this as it serves me no useful featureThank you

Our group would like to be able to delete conversations in Glip. To date, we've been instructed we can only delete what the user themselves wrote line by line. Please inform if there is a work-around or if this is in the works. Thank you.

I have 3 users (Members) who show up as Guests when they message each other. I haven't been able to get any info out of Support except that it has been escalated and that someone will get back to me. Does anyone have any insight here?Marvin

Multiple tasks across multiple teams in our organization are losing messages in the conversations of task. We are also losing the updates that crossposted into the corresponding posts in the appropriate teams.Are there expiration periods on the posts in a task's conversation or is there a known bug where these disappear? We had been using the conversation panel or tasks extensively so it would be a big issue to have to switch to attachments or some other workaround.Example here. The red line represents an area where originally the task had a posted update, but the text is now missing both from this area AND from the team chat.Thank you,

The message can't be sent out successfully, here is the notification,what's the problems?

My company using Ring Central messaging all day long, which is great, however it would be really nice if folx could flag a message they're posting in Glip to be urgent/important. Ideally, that would make the icon in the tray flash or pop-up and trigger an automatic email if the message isn't responded to within a minute or so. I know this is a feature you can do with Teams and we're struggling to make the case for using RC instead of teams. This would go a long way for our users adopting the tool.

Whats happened to the feature of allowing external emails to message a use?, by simply adding clip.com to the persons Glip email address, eg if a persons login email is cheech@company.com anyone could (depend on settings) send an email to cheech@company.com.glip.com and the messaged would arrive in Cheech's Ring Central app messages.I see that this has been applied to teams, using this kind of email address 211912341302@1223830561.mvp.ringcentral.com so external users can email it. We want to send auto acknowledgement text sms to the sender who send Fax something like "We recieved your fax. Thank you". Any way to turn it on?

When using the calendar migration tool, my understanding is that this will update links the tool finds in the RCV users calendar. Does the RCV user then need to update the invite so the recipient will get the updated link? If an invite was already sent prior to running the tool and switching to RCV is the recipients link automatically updated? The internal steps are pretty straight forward. I'm wondering how this works for those who have already been invited with a RCM link. Thanks,

Is there any way to block attempts by people from outside of our organization to chat with our users through Glip? We have our tenant restricted so that only admins can invite new users by setting up an account for them through the admin portal, but we've had people create free Glip accounts and then attempt to send messages to our users by using their email addresses.When this happens, the admins on our tenant get an email saying "<email address> would like to be invited to RingCentral. Please go to the People page on RingCentral and click on the Invite People button at the top of the page to invite them."There should really be an option to disable this - we will never want to allow outside people to access our messaging. We can disable SMS messaging with a switch; this should be a no brainer option.

Currently, customers have the option to hide the Message tab in the RingCentral app and remove it from the main navigation, however, it is still accessible in the More menu. If they want to disable the Message function completely, they would have to disable messaging for the entire account. Can we make it possible to remove the Message functionality completely for specific users through roles/permissions? Please review Support ticket #12428938 as a use case.

We use the Ring Central App for Windows Desktop (21.3.30) as well as the Ring Central App for Android and IOS. In looking through community posts, I haven't been able to find an answer to this question:Is it possible to selectively stop app notifications (the little red dots with or without numbers) for certain less important conversations or teams in the application? Or set them to an equivalent of Do Not Disturb? In other words, I am a member of multiple teams that I wish to monitor. But I have little need or desire to see the little notification dot every time someone posts something into the conversation. If someone posts into one of our watercooler groups that they had a tuna salad sandwich for lunch, I don't need to see the little notification bubbles, particularly on my taskbar.
