This question was apparently asked a long time ago without any response so I am going to post it again. Is there a way to set up a line to go straight to voicemail when a new call comes in and the user is already on a call?

I recently was told to uninstal my RC PHONE desktop app and install the newer RC Classic app. When I did this, by contacts did not merge. I had dozens of business phone and fax numbers saved that did not merge. Can the old contacts with names and faxes please be merged?Thank you.

I had a user host a webinar but accidentally recorded it locally versus using the cloud recording option. Is there a way to move it to their RingCentral cloud storage so they can share it with webinar participants?

We are new to RingCentral. We have 65 phones at one of our locations in a 7 story building. We need to be able to page all phones at one time. We are told we can only page up to 25. Is there a way to expand this to all 65?

Scheduled meetings do not display in the new RingCentral Desktop App, as we cannot link to Office 365 or Google Services having Onsite Exchange and Local Outlook 2016.RC-Meetings displays Scheduled meetings correctly in the App as a list and from there you can start them. RC Desktop and Mobile Apps do not. Its is handicapping the users that have Onsite Exchange and Local Outlook 2016.The Outlook 2016 integration into Outlook 2016 doesn't do it either.What we could do with is by default all scheduled meetings appearing natively in the Meetings section of the RC Desktop App and then if you want to Integrate with Microsoft/Google, that takes over.The native functionality is essential.

Restricting users to change caller ID from the app.

All of a sudden, incoming calls are going straight to voicemail without DND being enabled. The calls go to voicemail for a few seconds and then the line starts ringing even if the incoming call has hung up.... HELP! the boss is out of town.... lol

I have signed up to the sandbox environment and wish to create some raw JSON to firstly "pass" a given telephone number and then to receive a response back with all the call recordings/call log list based on that telephone number. I have worked with raw JSON before but after extensive reading in the documentation I cannot see how to get started with the API. I want to use password flow authentication because I have solely created a CRM application (server-side application in the cloud) which will be doing the processing work, as opposed to a physical user. Ultimately all I want to do is allow my CRM application automatic"permission" to access the API and access the call recordings/log by passing the API a telephone number so I can then see the individual call recording IDs for that telephone number so ultimately a user in my CRM can play a call recording. Hello,By using https://platform.devtest.ringcentral.com/restapi/v1.0/account/~/device to retrieve all the account devices, I don't see the "type:hardphone" which I am looking for in particular as I will use their device IDs in other API calls.however, If I use https://platform.devtest.ringcentral.com/restapi/v1.0/account/~/extension/~ it returns the associated hardphones and softphones for this extension.Any idea on how to retrieve all the (devices ID) for hard-phones in the account?Regards,Ahmed

In the Chromebook extension, please give me the ability for my assistant to schedule my meetings. Right now, I can't see the meetings that she schedules for me because she has to use RC Meetings or RC video since she uses Windows.

Time zone and hours of operation are correct and app shows Online/Available. What is going on?

I am using RingCentral Office Standard. I would expect to be able to go into the online admin portal and control the outgoing caller ID via Users --> User List --> Users with Extensions, select a user and then administer their outgoing caller ID.But I don't see any such capability, the user's outgoing caller ID is always set to the main corporate number. Am I looking in the wrong place?

We have no access to modem or router in our back office. What is your suggestion? If I get an extender that plugs into the wall, can I plug the ethernet phone into that?

Hi RingCentral Community!We have a need to allow a Employee B to cover for Employee A while they are out on medical leave.We need all calls and voicemail destined for Employee A to end up with Employee B for a certain amount of time. Since Employee B is working from home and does not have the ability to have their Polycom phone with them, they need to use the Apps (both desktop and mobile). As I understand it, RC cannot forward calls to the apps directly (seems odd) so we need to set up a call queue for Employee B. I have done this and created a custom rule but just cannot get it to work.Calls made to Employee A do go to the Employee B Call Queue but the voicemails are left in the Call Queue voicemail and no notifications go out.

I have a problem where when answering with a headset the caller hears them self but the recipient does not hear the echo. It makes it hard for the caller to speak because they have to speak over their own echo.

I've been researching on how to access the logs for RingCentral for a while now and I'm having a bit of trouble. Essentially, I want to use a file on our web server to call the API and fetch all the records for every user (not just the owner account that I have the credentials set up on). Afterwards, I plan to store them in our database but I don't think I'll have issues there. From the link below, and other alternatives I've tried (Zapier), it appears that I need the username, password, and extension to get all this information collectively. RingCentral Classic users are able to edit links that were posted by other users on chat. This option is not available when using new RingCentral version. This could be considered a potential security risk, since even non-admins can edit links that other people post. If you have external users enabled, those could theoretically edit a link that was posted by an internal user. This has not been verified, since external users are not allowed on our company chat.

Hi thereI need to create an app for using with Avaya Cloud Office. According to the documentation and when I create the app, I can only do this if my app is set up with "Auth Code" authentication, even though my app is only for members of my own organisation to use. I have created a working "private" app in the RingCentral Sandbox environment using password flow and my CRM, which I wrote, programmatically authenticates (no need for a physical login page or real person interaction; it is all automatic). This works perfectly using Password Flow.However for my app to be graduated and migrated for use with Avaya Cloud Office I am only allowed to use Auth Code authentication (even though my app is private and only for members of my organisation to use) but from everything I have read and learnt "Auth Code" only works with a physical login page which requires a real person to physically interact and enter credentials into the login page. I have a very large company that holds 100's of number blocks, 0001 - 0099, that are currently sitting in my "all numbers" tab under site: Company. Previously when updating a new device I could simply choose the number I want to edit. Well now I need to add extra steps to move the number from the company site to the "number inventory". From here I can then go back to my device, edit number, select the number in my inventory.This is just another update that provides nothing but more work for our technicians with no way to move multiple numbers at once.Even if I could move all my company numbers there at one time I do not see how this was a beneficial change.

I was asked by our contact center why it seems like one agent will get more than one call in a row while others show available. Here is what a contact center agent sent me. Thank you in advance for any tips to solve this problem. Is there supposed to be a rotation for phone calls? Ali and I noticed this yesterday where it seems like one person is getting a few calls in a row before it moves on to another person. For example, yesterday I had gotten about 5 calls in a row with no break in between and then I noticed everyone else was “available”, but then later it looked like Ali was getting a bunch of calls and I was available but none were coming through to me. I hope this makes sense.
