RingEX: Phone, SMS, & Fax

This web page says it is supported. RingCentral Online Account | Supported BrowsersI can't find any info on how to do it. I do it with Chrome but want to use EDGE

We would like to use the Ring Central Desktop app to one-click fax or text non-Ring Central numbers. It's not reasonable to ask all the doctors' offices we fax, and doctors we text, to provide an email address and ask them to take time to download and setup a Ring Central app. They just won't do it. It seems reasonable that if I can type in a random phone number to send a text, that I would be able to save that number in a list of contacts. Maybe there is a way to access our "personal" contacts from ringcentral.com? We use the Standard plan. Thank you.

We have 15 message only extensions setup as efaxes and am trying to generate a report that lists each one of the efax extensions and gives a total for each for a specified date range. I've tried utilizing the call log but it only allows me to select one extension at a time which is quite time consuming since this will be run on a weekly basis. I've also looked under the analytics reports but am not seeing any criteria for message only extensions. Am I missing something? Is there a better way of doing this?

I bought a CISCO CP 8861 phone from an online retailer since it was on the list of phones supported by RingCentral. I tried to auto provision and it failed. I then tried to reach the phone using its ip address in a browser so that I could manually provision. I kept getting a message that the connection was refused. I could ping the phone but not get it in a browser. I spent an hour with Ring Central tech support and got no where. Then it was another hour with CISCO to learn that I needed the support contract number held by the Amazon seller. I called him and found out the answer to the problem, which I am posting here so other users don't waste 3 hours. When you buy a CISCO phone from Ring Central it is a 3PCC model and will work. When buying from others, unless your get the 3PCC model, the phone will never work on RingCentral. Why? CISCO originally built its phones for CISCO phone systems. So all of our inbound, unanswered phone calls go to our emails. However, all of the transcriptions come, but without the audio recording. As nice as the feature is, it doesn't always provide the most accurate version of what people say. I am curious to know if there is something wrong with our set up. All admin have permissions and receive the emails, they just do NOT include the audio player with them. Is there any way to fix this?

My Windows administrator is having some challenges deploying the RC app via .exe. Deploying the .msi file is certainly easier and more reliable, but we'd like our end-users to at least be prompted to update when an update is available. Are there any additional options for deploying the RC UC app with auto-update? Thanks.

We have a need to disable auto-update of the RingCentral App (newest version). It appears to auto-update and our desire would be to push those updates out intentionally and in a controlled way for multiple reasons. This would be for the Windows desktop version.I can't find any articles related to this latest version. Hoping someone has tackled this.

We need to have one of our lines work like a landline so an alarm can use to call out. What hardware do we need or is available that has a port on it for a regular phone? Thanks.

I ported a number from Google Voice to RC today, and am in the process of provisioning my phone. I'm a little lost when navigating the menus because I can't find an advanced settings list. There's a device admin and unlock admin settings menus, but I am unable to access them due to an invalid password. I did do a reboot and cancellation to reset the password to 456. That password worked when I rebooted it, but I can't use it to access some menus. I've tried modes IPV4 and 123. I did change the addressing type from static to DHCP.

Hi Team, within the phone app, there is a section for text messages, I believe that it's in use in some countries but not in Australia. Any plans to implement here in AUS??THANKS SO MUCH

I have a ticket open already but wondering if this is isolated to our organization. Emails going out via @rcfax.com appear to not be processed by RingCentral. Looking through the logs on our email servers I show the emails being received by RingCentral's SMTP server and getting back a 250 2.0.0 Ok: queued as XXXXXXXX. Faxes sent via the app is working but is not an acceptable solution for us as all faxes must be archived.

We have an organization with two separate entities on location. The secondary entity has a direct line and is forwarded to it's director. But the director also fields calls for the primary entity and needs a way to differentiate the incoming calls. Any ideas?

I am using custom integration between Salesforce and RingCentral and need to have different phone number for each user for sending sms. Got an error : Phone Number doesn`t belong to extention

We have a fax-only account, with up to 25 users able to send faxes via email. We hired a new person today, and when I went to add them to the list through 'outbound fax settings', the list of email addresses isn't there. How can I add new users? Also, possibly related, it seems that outgoing email faxes aren't going. Two of us tried. Nothing showed up in outbox or sent, no confirmations were received. It was working last week. Any ideas?

I want to allow for creator only, to edit the task details: title, team, assignee, due date/time, e.t.c.Or, how to disable the Edit task for everyone but creator ?Thank You.

We have some users who are not showing up in the company directory in the App or Mobile App. I tried following https://support.ringcentral.com/app/admin/desktop-web/managing-company-directory-ringcentral-online-account.html but the options to Include in Company Directory are not on my admin portal.Is there anything I am missing?

We have a small work from home call queue group (4 members). All members are using the RC phone app on their PC. All members logged in and show available in service web and in Live Reports. Inbound delivery is set to Rotating. Calls are sitting in queue but members phones are not ringing. Call shows as a missed call in members call log even though it was never delivered to their softphone.Anyone have thoughts :)

Fraud occurred on one of our phone extensions. Tried to communicate with the Fraud department for two days in order to remedy the situation with the phone extension and to ensure that fraud does not occur in the future. Opened a ticket in the portal and it was closed without resolution and have sent multiple emails to the fraud department as well as waiting on hold for hours only to be told that the rep that is assigned is unavailable. Can someone please help?

I have just downloaded the RingCentral app for my job on my iOS device. Unfortunately it seems the app does not work with an iPhone 12 Pro Max. I can log in, until I need to put in the security code then I get an error message that says, can't recognize the device. I would love to see the app be updated so I can use it for my job or a place to see that my phone is not supported.InkedRingcentral-error-screenshot-censored.jpg

I need to be able to mass text one message to a list of 50 phone numbers....copy the numbers, paste in a text and send. Frustrating that this is not possible please if you could add this feature it would be a HUGE time saver....typing 50 phone numbers is no bueno!

Hoping to get some advice on enabling hotkeys for the pop-out MAX phone system. I have found the article in the helpdesk that describes what hotkeys can be used... But there is no option in my settings to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have uses on the RingCentral application and they keep getting logged out. It is random. How do I fix it. They are also logged in to the RingCentral Salesforce application.

We're having a problem where iPhone and Android apps cannot answer calls. Our three users are part of the same call queue and incoming calls to our main # go to that queue. Our desk phones and desk apps ring and allow us to answer. On the Android app the call appears but I can't press the green answer button, it just vanishes and on the next ring appears and vanishes. One person with an iPhone says the same thing happens to them, another says they don't get a notification that a call is coming in.We called support and L2 support reset our connections and incoming calls worked on our cell phone apps, but the problem has returned.We've tried logging out on our cell phones and logging back in, still no dice. And we can answer these calls on our desk and Windows app phones.Any ideas?

Hello,I am trying to run the QOS test (https://www.ringcentral.com/support/qos.html) and it just loads a page with a small bar across the screen, but does nothing even after waiting several minutes. It just keeps redownloading the installer, which I have already ran. I have checked and the necessary services are running, but when I go to the page to check it says it can't talk to the service. Tried running on Mac, Linux, and Windows, but all have the same issue. I have checked to make sure the two services are actually running in Task Manager/Activity Monitor and they are there, but it still won't talk. Is there something I am missing?
