Our main phone number goes directly to a ring group that rings all extensions. Unfortunately, many people text us at this number (mostly spam). How do I reply text from that number to “STOP”? I can only reply from my local extension, not the main number.

RingCentral Mobile App has a bug when receiving an inbound call using headphones. It will always default the Mobile speaker first then manually have to set the audio. Outbound calls work good with the headphone.

We have a person out on maternity leave for several months. Her manager wanted her calls forwarded to a coworker. What we discovered is that only when the coworker is logged in and able to answer the phone are the calls forwarded, if not, the calls revert back to the voicemail of the person on maternity leave. I do not understand this. If the person is out why would the call go back to their voicemail, it should go the coworkers voicemail where the calls are being forwarded to, as though the caller called the coworker directly.We also discovered that if the coworker is using the Glip phone, calls cannot be forwarded because the Glip phone is not considered a true end point, per RingCentral Technical Support. I don't understand this either why am able to call the coworker on their Glip phone but I cannot forward calls to them on their Glip phone?

From an extension, in the Call Forwarding and Voicemail | Work Hours rules, I am attempting to forward a call to multiple external "Numbers" (not "Coworkers"). I have it set to "Ring all at once" and have 5 numbers listed. These numbers are cell phones.The recipients report that only two of them are getting the calls forwarded to them. 3 are not getting calls at all. Is there a limit set to external numbers to receive forwarded calls from a single extension? If so, what is that limit. Is this documented anywhere?

Is there a way to have an extension automatically be "available" at a specific time? Like, is there a timer that can be set so an extension will automatically go from DND to Available?

Hello all,First time poster, and new RingCentral customer. I have a question about the setup and provisioning process for Polycom phones that are currently in service with another provider.My organization is transferring our main number, and therefore all our extension deskphones, to RC on November 30th. I am currently building out our phone and user directories, but I am not sure how exactly running the Setup and Provision process for our deskphones will affect our current service. Once the devices in our system are provisioned, will that interfere with our ability to use the Polycoms during the interim period before Nov 30th? Should I instead wait until the transfer has actually finished to provision?Any information on this matter would be most appreciated. Thanks!Sincerely,Nick Newman

I want to allow customers to Dial By Name or Extension as a Menu Option. I cannot figure out how to integrate the RC Phone Directory and allow Dial By Name/Extension via MVP.

We have an endpoint setup to receive account telephony session event notifications from RC that is working and has worked for a long time for our users until recently. We have two users that we know of that are just not receiving any telephony session event notifications. It's not that the endpoint isn't working, because we tested it with brand new endpoints that only receive notifications for the specific users. The only notification we received was from the RC API initially validating the endpoint and getting the validation token back. RingCentral gave back the success code and we can see the subscription is active on the account when we pull the subscription list via API.For some reason, we can't get any of the notifications for telephony session events which we use to calculate talk time and other metrics that we use for performance reporting.We also do not receive presence notifications for these users, but are tracking all of that for our many other users without any

Why are incoming calls not showing as currently calling? Notification is only received when call is missed. Number is active and should receive calls 24/7. Is there another setting that could be making this happen?

I have to write an app that sets a call forwarding destination for a user. In order to call the API I need an extension ID./restapi/v1.0/account/~/extension/'+extId+'/forwarding-numberHowever, all I have is the users DDI phone number to query with. So it would appear I have to first get a complete list of all phone numbers on the system and this will include their extension IDs./restapi/v1.0/account/~/phone-numberFrom there, I can use this list to lookup the extension ID for a specific phone number. I have over 25K users on the system. This takes time and puts load on the system. Is there no way to query just one phone number and get just it's details?Thanks.

We have an 800 number that is our main number. In the IVR settings I have that number going directly to an extension. The greeting, if not answered, is the extension's voicemail greeting, not the company greeting.When the voicemail greeting starts, it says "We can't take your call right now, but if you know your party's extension please enter it now followed by the pound sign, otherwise, wait for the beep to leave us a message." The reason it goes directly to the extension is because we want the main messages to be left on that extension if the caller doesn't know any other one. The problem is that the caller must enter the alternate extension FAST or it beeps to leave a message, then they can't enter the extension. Should the IVR be set to the company greeting? Otherwise what suggestions might someone have out there?

When I use the Nikon Web Cam utility for my camera in the Ring app, many times it will lock up the video and then won't show the option to use it anymore. I can join with the web app and it works fine in there. the utility is supported and works fine in Zoom.

I have recently ported numbers into Ring Central from another provider. The transfer was successful and the numbers are in my phone inventory. However, when I try to assign these numbers to an extension(existing user) it fails and tells me to try again later.I have been on the phone with support and level 2 support they mention this a known issue.It is hard to believe that Ring Central isn't working for any ported numbers? They must be losing business over this and is about to lose my business.Anyone else experiencing problems with assigning ported numbers to existing users?

I need a mechanism as the admin to pull analytics on SMS/Text messaging by user. I would love to get details stats, but at a minimum simply how many text messages are being sent out by user.Does this exist? I don't see anything around SMS/Texting on the Analytics side.

We hire temporary call center users and every year we need to change all of the passwords for 100+ user accounts. Is there a way to automate the password updates without changing one at a time? Maybe import an Excel file with the username and new password? Seems like this is an important admin feature that is missing in this day and age of SOX requirements.
