Removing users but keeping number within the department

How would I go about terminating a user but being able to keep that number within the department so that we do not assign that number to a different department. For example, we have a terminated employee in Finance and when I remove that user from RingCentral, that number goes to the unassigned queue and is not labeled to which dept the phone number was previously assigned to. How would I be able to keep that number within that dept so that when we hire a new finance person, we would know and can assign that number to that dept only. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi guys,Is it possible to have a direct link to a team channel?My idea is to use it in an email reminder and in case of question the user can click on a link and be directed to the IT support channel.It's similar as the meeting URL but to open the desired team channel instead.William,

What is easiest way to find an available extension number?

We have 25 offices. The extensions we assign coincide with the office the user is in. For instance Chicago office users extensions start with 20XX. When we have a new user I have to go into RC Phone and start typing in extensions until I find one not in use. There has to be an easier way! Anyone have a better way to do this?Thanks

Unable to block unwanted calls - listed as outgoing calls

Our company has been receiving a lot of unwanted calls. These are listed as outgoing calls in the call log for some reason. I have added them to the blocked numbers list, but they are still coming in, and are now showing as outgoing calls from myself to my own number in the call log. Is there any way to block them?

Chromebook log in issues

I have people trying to log into a RingCentral Meeting using a Chromebook...They are either unable to log in or get kicked out . They appear to have the Chromebook RingCentral app (at least its the app the they are asked to download when they click on the meeting link).Anyone with any suggestions would be appreciated

The yellow presence has been removed

The yellow presence dot in Glip has been deactivated. I don't know when colleagues are online are offline. This is apparently due to a recent update of the Glip app. I think this is terrible as I have no idea if somebody is online or not. Can Glip be changed back to have the yellow presence dot?

We found sometimes, couple user's exentions numbers were assigned to be as Company Number. We definitely had not manually assgined it, and we checked 'Audit Trail' and did not find anything. So we have no idea how this happened.So under what kind of circumstance, a user's phone number will be assigned as Company Number?

Text-To-Speech on Edit Name does not work

I am new to RIngCentral and just started to "Admin" the RingCentral for our office. When I try to change the "Name" on an existing extension, after I edit the "User Name" text-to-speech and save it, it does not seem to work, it still pronounces/announces the old/previous name, even when I go back to edit it, it shows the spelling/pronunciation of the new name, but the "Audio" does not change and still has the old name/pronounciation?What am I doing wrong?

I need our main line to ring on my phone. How is this done? I have a direct # on my phone, but I am also the recptionist and need to answer incoming calls to the main line.

Auto-register after loss of internet

We have redundanct ISPs configured on the firewall. When the internet fails over, the Polycom phones all get de-registered until we manually reboot them. Is there no other way?

Is it possible to change the operator based on a schedule?

For example, during business hours, one of our extensions would be set as the operator extension, and after hours, it would be another extension, based on a schedule? (So we don't have to change it manually every day).

more granular control over business hours.

It would be beneficial to have more granular control over the business hours. Instead of going in 15 minute increments. We would be able to provide better customer service if we were able to control our business hours in 5 minute increments instead of 15 minutes. We typically are not ready to take calls 15 minutes prior to/after opening/closing. But we are available at 5 minutes.

Possible to have a Multi-Level IVR with a Dial-by-name directory?

I am trying to get us set up correctly and am struggling to figure it out. We have multiple incoming lines, and different lines have a different call flow. I understand that to accomplish this the system needs to be set up as a multi-level IVR. I would like the auto attendant to answer along the lines of "Thank you for calling, if you know your party's extension you may dial it at any time. Press zero for the operator, press one for sales, press 2 for support etc, press nine for the dial by name directory." I am told that if I have a multi-level IVR enable I can't have the "press zero for the operator, press 9 for the dial by name directory" Is that true? Is there a work around to this?

Why are User Admins unable to download another extensions/users messages?

Within the RingCentral admin portal, we noticed that Super Admins are the only ones that are able to download another user/extensions voicemail messages. We have users that are setup as User Admins and they are able to access/play/forward another users/extensions voicemail messages but receive an error when attempting to download/save the actual message. Per speaking with a RC Tech Support agent, I was advised that that was a system limitation. Will this be fixed in the near future? I do not understand how a User Admin is able to access/play/foward another user's voicemail message but can not download/save it. If this was the case, if a User Admin is unable to download/save a voicemail message of another user, then I would expect that would not be able to access the voicemail messages at all.
