I want to be able to have my deskphone ring first, then if I don't it moves to my softphone app on my phone. But I am unable to move the softphone to anything other than 1. This really restricts the usage of the entire app and adds a level of annoyance.Please let me know how to fix this, or change it in the next update.

Hi RC Developers,We are currently having issues with the new RC app. We arent able to pause and unpause a recording or mask a certain part of the conversation in a recorded call. We need that feature working for us.

Can we have the ability to share files with participants in the meeting and can we load in content to the presentation directly? For example, the Webex Training Center, allows the host to load PPP, Activity sheets, and other content into the meeting directly--allowing the participants to see the PowerPoint the moment they sign in without the host having to share a screen. They can also annotate and complete activities on the content directly without the use of a white board. I have added a picture of a file I would load into the presentation at the very beginning of class, and the participants would come in and begin engaging with the content immediately. Is this something RC expects to do and or implement in the near future?

Does the Call Queue Data API provide this information? I'm not seeing it in the documentation? I manage our internal knowledgebase for the office, and need to update the RingCentral guides. I see that there are two ways in the mobile app to stop any incoming calls from ringing on the cell phone. You can turn on "Silence Incoming Calls" or select "Do Not Disturb". What is the difference between the two? Are there advantages of one over the other? I know users will ask, and I haven't found an answer on the RingCentral support site. Turning on DND is the easier option, but I just wanted to get a solid answer on what the differences/advantages are (if any).Thanks.

We are new to RingCentral API and are trying to understand the high level structure of the system. We are confused with the requirement to build an App in the Developer Portal. What does this App do? Many other API implementations that we have done never required a "middleware" App to communicate with the API. We just make a call to the API endpoint and present credentials, usually API ID and API Key.Secondly, how do we authenticate to the API? There are no credentials available anywhere in our RC account that are required in the App?The documentation that we have found on authentication is very unclear. RC does provide the code for creating the SMS App, but documentation for the App is terrible. Also, we intend to use Azure Logic Apps to communicate with the API but are unable to find any documentation on how to communicate with the API from a platform such as Azure Logic Apps or Postman for example.Finally, in our case we need to integra

Setup at busy medical office. Whole office closes for lunch M-F 12pm - 1pm. Trying to find a way to set phones to message only during lunch. Can someone please explain the difference between 'sendWelcomeEmailsToUsers' and 'sendWelcomeEmail' under the 'transition' array when utilizing the 'Update Extension' API?Also, can 1 of these flags be used to import a user without sending the welcome email, then somehow be used again to allow the welcome email to be sent? A use case would be to import users that will be added to call queues. We don't want the users to receive their welcome email until the call queues are all setup.Thanks!

Does ring central work with viking door systems?

Hello,My team has noticed today that no one seems to be able to receive text messages. Outbound texts seem to be working. This appears to be impact numbers outside and inside the organization and is reproducible by multiple users.

Help! Replacing a Viking analog door box that connected to a co line port of a digital system. Does anyone have a recommendation on a replacement that will work on RingCentral? We have allocated a Standard license to this. We have wired network cable to this exterior location. Has anyone installed a Viking E20 IP ? Thanks!

We noticed starting a few months ago that some calls that come in through our ring central number sometimes drop or no audio comes through and they hang up. We didn't notice it in the beginning, thinking they were those drop robocalls, but sometimes they were potential clients. We use the local network Cox, with a Netgear router. The 2 landline phones we use are connected to the router through ethernet cables, and 1 mobile phone that uses the app. We don't think know if it is the network, because when a call comes through and is answered through mobile, the call still drops and he has to call them back. It didn't do that before, which is why we caught on now, because now even incoming calls on the mobile get dropped. No changes have been made in the time we have used Ring Central. I've tried diagnosing the issue using the resources already on Ring Central, but troubleshooting and checking the ISP has not shown any problems on our end.This

Any way for the notifications sounds for new messages, texts, etc. to be routed to PC Speakers.  We can set telephone microphone and telephone sound to headsets and telephone RING to Speakers.  But, the message sounds only come through headsets (when using headsets).  It'd be nice to be able to route sounds to different devices for those of us who don't wear headsets all the time.

I would like to be able to use Archiver with either Microsoft Onedrive or Citrix Sharefile is there any plan to create an integration for either of these?

Hello,I am trying to set up a webhook notification for missed inbound calls. I'm using the following event filter for that purpose:/restapi/v1.0/account/~/extension/{extensionId}/telephony/sessions?direction=Inbound&missedCall=trueHowever, whenever there's a missed inbound call, I get no notifications whatsoever.If I remove the missedCall=true parameter, I get 3 notifications for every missed call:The call "Setup" notification (where missedCall = false)The "Voicemail" notification (where missedCall = false)The "Disconnected" notification (where missedCall = true)If I set the missedCall=false parameter, I get the first 2 notifications, which leads me to think that there's something wrong with the RingCentral notifications when it comes to missed calls in particular.Any ideas?

How can I see how my Calling Credits are being used and by who?

We need a translator from time to time, and while Google Translate is not perfect, it would be good enough. You can have Google Translate use audio on the computer speakers, but it doesn't come through in the conversation. Is there a way to make that work?

We want to use your High Volume SMS plan that is highlighted on your products page but really been having a hard time getting to the point of actually using it.In order for the application to graduate to production, we have to exercise all permission via the sandbox endpoint. However, we can't exercise A2P permissions because those API endpoints aren't available in sandbox, so we ended up applying without permission. The arbitrary process of meeting requirements and waiting for review approval wasted us 2 weeks.Once we finally got the production credentials, we enrolled one number into the High Volume SMS plan but never gotten assigned the A2P permission. We submitted a help ticket to the developer support team and have waited for a week without any updates. What is the reason for us not being able to add permissions after app graduation? Requirements change in software all the time and would we really have to create a new application and go through

Just went live on RC with ported number on 1/20/2020. Am using Mail app in macOS. Have turned on email notifications with transcribed text and audio recordings.Mail app has a built in mp3 player that shows play/stop and sound level controls, and how long the audio is.  Email notifications from RC regarding changes to the account play fine in the Mail app. Email notifications from RC with voicemail from incoming calls show Error instead of the iconic triangular play button. But you can download and play from the Macs desktop the mp3 file from the same email that shows Error, so the mp3 file is ok. If use webmail to look at the email, can also download the mp3 there as well.  If look at same email on another Mac with Mojave Mail app also has same Error issue.  Have US RC account. Using macOS Mojave latest updates 10.14.6. Affects one user but only have one user account (small non-profit), so affects all users.

We are having a problem forwarding calls from one extension to another extension. In this case we want to be able to forward calls from a manager to an assistant, both with their own separate extensions. This would also preferably be done through the RC mobile app since this can mobile at all times. Apparently there is no way to do this currently, even with RC support.

I have called several times the transfer/port customer service to no avail. I have attempted to create a transfer ticket and it has been rejected. I have asked our account manager to assist and he states its out of his area. What next?

I'm very new to the developers site & the APIs but pretty experienced with .NET & C#. I'm looking to build either an ASP.NET or Winforms app that will call an extension, play a canned message from an audio file, and hang up.The specific application is to enable a set of emergency pages on our overhead paging system. We had initially implemented the paging system using a Cyberdata Paging Adapter and a RingCentral paging group, but there's no way to stop the obnoxiously loud BEEP! that RingCentral interjects. So I scrapped the Paging group and did it as a simple extension. The Cyberdata can play pre-loaded messages upon DTMF keypresses, but there's no way to do that without having to also press 0 to simply page. The operators page dozens of times a day, but may someday need to do an "Evacuate the building page."So I'd like to provide something with a few buttons they could click to play selected pre-recorded
