RingEX: Phone, SMS, & Fax

We have RingCentral Polycom 450 phones and use the speed dial buttons to the left and right of the screen to call internal extensions quickly. But we also have a number of external - non RingCentral numbers that we call all the time and would like to program the speed dial buttons to call some of these numbers too. I am told this is not possible at this time and to submit it as an idea - so here you go.

Can we customize fax cover or any kind of custom covet available for desktop application?

We have new Yealink T57W and I cannot get the phones display (and shown a number of) new messages that have not been yet played. Ideally, I would like to see know that there are new messsages, how many new messages are there and how many old messages were already checked. Can anyone suggest how to make these phones display this?

We recently had to move to RingCentral because of an acquisition and I'm fighting to find some parity on a few features. Today's target: A Dashboard/Switchboard/Operator Panel.We are using the HUD (in the Desktop Application) and it works decently, but there are some decided shortcomings. A) One issue is that if a call is transferred to somebody else (ie: Alison receives a call from 'ABC Client' and transfers it to Mike) then after the transfer is complete is will show Mike's extension as 'On Call with Alison' instead of 'On Call with ABC Client'. B) Another issue is that there is no way to do a condensed grid layout, which can make it very frustrating/impossible to see everyoneC) The last issue is that the Presence feature does not respect DND being set on a physical phone, so people who want to have a physical desk phone push DND on their desk phone, as well as DND on the Ring Central App.Does anyone know of anything that can help us out with an

Good afternoon, we would like to continue recording our incoming calls, but we also want to give our customers the option to opt out of being recorded while still connecting the call. Is this possible to setup in the admin console?

Has anyone had success using the Plantronics Calisto 240 Handset with the RingCentral Desktop App? Are you able to answer, transfer and make calls using the handset? What do you like/dislike about it?

We're using RingCentral desktop app with Jabra Evovle2 65 headsets with the Link 370 Bluetooth device for call control. We have a couple of users who will have random times where the call control button on the headset will stop working. Daily the users will have to log out of RingCentral app and back in to get the app to recognize the headset and allow call control from the head set (answer and hang up) I have updated the devices to the latest firmware.

We use Plantronics Focus headsets. On two different headsets on two different laptops we have experienced the headset automatically muting during a call. When attempting to turn off the mute, the headset quickly mutes again and will not remain unmuted. We have updated the headset through the plantronics hub. Any other suggestions on trouble shooting when this happens?

We would like the ability to download multiple call logs into one file.

When will the voicemail notification be shown on the deskphone screen? When will this feature be available with RC?

We are getting tons of calls and texts from all over the country claiming they received a missed call from one of our lines, what is happening? We never dialed out to anyone, these people are only calling 1 of our direct lines. These are people all over the country and no one has called, what is going on?

How can I enable blur virtual background during video calls? It does not seem to be an option in my virtual backgrounds setting - is it something I need to upload?

While working from home, when dialing a phone number for an outgoing call on my desktop app, once i click on the green phone, nothing happens. I used to be able to make calls from home; this issue started about 3 weeks ago - any ideas?,When working from home, I type in a outgoing number from desk top app, when I click on the green phone icon, it doesn't begin ringing. It had been previously working, just began having issues about 3 weeks ago. Any idea what is causing this and how to fix?

Can anyone help me? I would like to change the inbound caller ID to display our business name instead of the name and phone number of the inbound caller.

Is there a way to change the Default meeting recording location from My Documents to the C drive? Not one at a time in the app, but across the company either at install or afterword's? Our desktop and Documents folder is redirected to a network server, and if an end user is on VPN and records a meeting the recording typically fails. I found recordings-config.json in the appdata folder, but changing the path here does not seem to change it in the app. I also do not see anywhere in the registry with a recording path that I could change.

in the 'powered by zoom' meetings application, we had the ability to share our iOS mobile devices if they were on the same wifi. This feature seems to be missing from the RC Video application. We use this a lot to show mobile versions of websites in development or to use our phone as a cordless camera to show actual product. Is there an ETA for that to be added to the RC Video app?

When I delete the extension, it doesn't go back into the 'unassigned' extensions pool, it just removes the extension entirely, and I have to re-purchase a new one. I want to be able to unassign an extension when a user leaves the company, and have that extension ready for new starters in the 'unassigned extensions' pool.

I'm able to reproduce this issue every time I select the expand window button in the RingCentral app running on Big Sur. Once I do, it almost looks like it enables 'Spaces' and completely takes over the entire screen, locking me out from launching any apps. I can get back to using any of my other desktop apps until I force quit RingCentral.I have Mission Control and Spaces all turned off. The only work around has been to delete the app including the Application support files and reinstalling. But once I click on the expand screen button after reinstalling, the problem comes back again, locking me out from running any other apps until I force quit RingCentral.

We have a phone in a classroom and would like to require a password/PIN for outbound calls to prevent unauthorized use during off hours. Is this possible? Obviously 911 calls would not need a PIN. I appreciate any help.

We provisioned our Yealink T46S phones with the admin password. Now, we can not get in with Admin or a password we set it to. We tried 789,789!, and 456 with no luck. Any ideas on how to get in to the advanced settings on our phones? No password is working

I am lost, and have not found explanations on users, extensions and phone numbers.We only need one central phone number for incoming calls. Calls are routed to a sales queue or a support queue. We need no specific users. We have a handful of people who answer calls from the queue but do not make calls. Then we have 1 person who might make outbound calls. We have no use for direct dial numbers. We also have a SIP phone that is more community based and occasionally will make or receive a call. We are on standard plan.Do I need a user license for people with soft phones who do make external calls? These stations are really not named users, but rather a pool that changes. Would that be virual extensions?Do I need to have any external phone numbers (other than our central number, which does not seem to be billed) ?It looks like we might have an external telephone number for the community phone. Is there any way to sync the contacts from desktop app to desktop phone (yealink T48S)? Only way I can find is to enter this info twice.
