SMS

Individuals trying to text me are receiving an error message “sorry this service is not available.”While other individuals are able to text me just fine.  This is all happening on the same day/hour.   Any advice? 

We are using the sms feature and we can receive messages but can not send them. 

I have two separate accounts that I use on a regular basis. One account I log out of on weekends as I am unavailable, however I STILL receive all incoming text message alerts. When I open my RC I am able to see all incoming texts sent to the account I'm no longer logged into. I have tried removing the other account on the mobile app and STILL receive the incoming texts. My only fix so far is to completely uninstall and reinstall the app. Once I log into the other account during the week, the issue will pop up again. I also see this message on the bottom of all texts sent to other account I’m logged out of.  

When I view the SMS log on the Admin portal in RingCentral I am able to see the users’ names associated with their telephone numbers in both the “from” and “to” columns; however, when I download the log the users’ names are not showing in the recipient column when they are receiving a text.  Is there a way to add this in?Thank you

I only have a SMS account with Ring Central. When trying to TCR register my SMS line, at the first step of the process I keep getting an error message after I enter all of my business and contact info. The error message says, "Cannot process transaction at this time. Please try again later". No one in Tech Support has been able to help resolve this issue. Does anyone have any suggestions or idea what's the problem? Thanks.

Hello, we've been on the phone with RingCentral support for an hour (I opened a ticket yesterday). What he's saying doesn't make sense. Even though our TCR shows Registered, he says it's still pending. We did this as soon as we could. And even though all the info said this doesn't go into effect until March 31, he is saying that this is why Verizon is blocking us. He says because the estimate to get TCR fully Registered is 20 days, it may be this long until we can text Verizon users. We staff our cases through RingCentral texting, we cannot wait that long. It's already made our processes more chaotic to not be able to reach out to people quickly. I asked to speak to a manager and we've been on hold another 40 minutes waiting to speak to someone.

Help. A group message was created by someone else who does not use Ring Central. When a ring central member went to reply in the group message stating only his name in the text message “John Smith”- an error message then popped up saying “unable to send message. Exceeded maximum recipients for a group message MMS.” But the other guy in the group message that was ring Central user could send a message just fine. Also when a photo was sent in the group message the other Ring Central guy who had no problems sending a message then could not receive the photo that was being sent into the group message. And the guy who couldn't send a message in the group message WAS able to see the photo.

I’m receiving this message recently.  It is new as prior to a few days ago I could send pictures.Pixel 9, Android version 15, RingCentral App version 25.2.35.450029 I attempt to send any picture, either from gallery or taken directly through the app this message is displayed.  This is a new issue and I’m trying to figure out if this is a setting that changed or if there is some new restrictions I’m unaware of.

Hi, I have applied and after weeks of back and forth with ddetails, SMS registration was approved ...BUT still not able to text via app.  the app (when logged in under a different extension) says “register for text messaging. So I applied for all the associated numbers to be added and approved as well. and for days it just says “status in progress.”  ultimately what i want is a SHARED SMS inbox so that as customer text messages come in via the main line or if we send a text message from anyone’s extention, ANY of the employees logged into the app with their own extention can respond…..BUT i want responses to look like they are coming from the SAME MAIN LINE.please help.

We have been through the process of having the TCR approved for months now, the actual application is approved, but the our number wasn’t added, I have calling the support team and they say it is a glitch or a bug with their backend, We are not allowed to talk to the back end team, on Friday someone told me they created a new case and that they will rush it as we only have 1 number. They said it will take 12-48 hours, it has been 72 hours and when I called again today they said there isn’t an estimated time anymore, and that I should wait for a call from.This is so unprofessional, we have been facing so many issues with texting and now after the application has been approved we still can’t send or receive text messages, this is affecting our business, and we can’t reach the team that is fixing it or talk to a supervisor, we just talk to employees that gave us fake estimated time for the fixes and now they are saying there is no estimated time for our fix! has anyone faced a si

Has anyone been able to get their SMS set up when a number is stuck in the “Set up in progress” Status? Its been 7 days since my number was ported and I added it to the SMS pool.  TCR was approved previously and it should have been as simple as a 24-48 hour wait to get it turned on. Every day there is another excuse and I’m told to wait another 24 hours.  

I am exploring new ways of allowing clients to communicate with us.  As a consumer, I note we can now text with our hair stylist, our massage therapist, our nail technician which makes communicating with these service providers really quick and easy.  I’m wondering if anyone has implemented this with their business clients through RC to a shared/group line as a way to attract clients and make it easier for them to reach you?

Hello- I have a user that is on a desktop app and they are not able to receive SMS text on the direct phone # that is associated with their extension. They can send SMS the issue is only with receiving. Is there a setting or any way to resolve this? 

We had a huge issue with sending and receiving SMS and it was resolved for a while, and now we’re experiencing issues again randomly. When will all issues with SMS be resolved? This is making the service super unreliable.

Hello- I have a main account with 6 users lines. 3 of those lines I set up on SMS they need to be able to directly communicate with customers and not only send text but also receive the direct reply. The extensions are ready to use on the admin portal. It worked for the first day it was ready they did receive incoming messages, however the next day they stopped seeing any incoming. In the Incoming SMS it only shows the desk user numbers and these are not the 3 for the incoming domestic lines needed for incoming messages. Can any one provide help? 

How do I add a person to an existing texting group? 

Hi RC team and fellow users,I’m writing to flag a persistent UX flaw in the RingCentral web app that slows down high-volume SMS workflows.When I click the “Send New Text” icon (speech bubble + icon on the left pane), the modal that appears defaults cursor focus to the “Text From” field instead of the “To” field. This is counterintuitive. I rarely change the sending number and would argue most users don’t. The natural first step is to enter the recipient, yet I’m forced to manually click or use keyboard navigation to get where the focus should’ve been in the first place.This adds friction, especially when sending dozens of texts daily. It’s a small detail with a compounding cost in productivity.Feature request: Either change the default behavior so that focus is placed on the “To” field upon opening the modal, or better yet, add a user pre

How can we send a message to more than 10 people at a time? There are times that we need to send the same message 300 times. 

 is it possible to make the sender's phone number dynamic when sending SMS messages? And sending SMS to more than 1 person in a group chat.

Please help. I was assured that there would be a grace period. Our outbound texting has been disabled. This is really bad.

We are having some of the same issues with our registration.  We originally submitted back in November.  I was under the impression all was fine - there was an initial rejection for opt-in / opt-out language that we were able to resolve by adding the wording requested.  We were able to text without issue until Monday - then yesterday without any additional notice our outgoing text has been stopped.  We can still receive messages - just not reply.  This is a crucial piece of our business and ability to communicate with our customers.  It is my understanding that the terms of service & privacy policy must be able to be viewed from our site - ours is linked to the payment site which does have both.  We are now just waiting….  Any help to escalate or examine our submission for approval / decline so we can know what steps to take next would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!! 

I have attempted a number of times to get a OTP (one-time-password) from Amazon to my SMS. I know my SMS is working but why is this one not coming through? Is there somewhere a blocked SMS setting?

Hello,It’s been around 3 months that our company is facing TCR compliance issue. This has not halted our SMS registration, but also so many of our clients and our internal team are facing issues communicating with each other, since Ring Central used to be our main source of communication with clients regarding their queries and also for internal communication between our own employees.And what makes this issue more critical is that a total of 10x Ring Central numbers assigned to us can’t send/receive messages.Right now, we have implemented all the steps needed for a perfect TCR compliance.

I've scrolled back almost a year and can't find the text that failed to send. Is there a way to quickly find this. If not, is there a way to get the error message to no longer show?
