We have developed a desktop application that individual users log into. We are making calls using the call-out function in the API as well as getting the user's devices, extension info, and subscribing for notifications for user call sessions, so it's very user-specific. I understand from the information at this link that users can only generate JWT tokens if they have a developer account, and the individual, end users don't have developer accounts - https://developers.ringcentral.com/guide/getting-started/create-credential: "JWT tokens are created exclusively within the RingCentral Developer Console. For this reason, JWT credentials can only be created by users who have a valid developer account or role." In the section about creating tokens on behalf of other users, it also mentions that they should be in the list of developers. We are going to use RC Faxing API to send faxes from our web application. All of the faxes will be sent using the same (admin/service) account and authorization details. However, we would like to use multiple extensions - each of them will be mapped to one of the organizations in our app. We use JWT tokens for authorization. How can I configure multiple extensions without adding more users? I need these extensions to only work for faxes, nothing more (no calls or sms). Is there a way to configure a development sandbox with multiple extension numbers for free, in order to test this solution before we will configure the real extensions for production and pay for it? Would using multiple extensions require also using separate JWT tokens for each organization? I was going to use just one account (with one JWT token) for each request to Fax API. I guess it should be sufficient to distinguish the requests by using different extensionId in path? Is it possible? The same question for webhooks

I have been unable to create message store exports for many accounts since 6/13. The API returns a 429 for the https://platform.ringcentral.com/restapi/v1.0/account/accountId/message-store-report endpoint. However the headers indicate that this is not really the case.They indicate that I have 29 more requests left in the time period. I already employ a method to ensure that I am not exceeding rate limits so this is unexpected and I believe indicates an issue with the ringcentral systems. Hi team, I’ve been integrating the High Volume SMS API in a production system, and I’m aware of the limitations listed in the official documentation — specifically, that MMS (e.g., images, vcards, GIFs, etc.) is currently not supported. However, I wanted to ask: Is there any supported or alternative way to send images or files (e.g., using links or another service)? Is Enhanced Business SMS the only option if I want to send rich media? Is support for MMS or media attachments in High Volume SMS currently under development or on the roadmap? My main use case is to send visual content (images or GIFs) along with appointment reminders or promotional content, ideally from an A2P-enabled number. Hello there, I’m working on a PoC to ingest RC’s call history into our data lake. I’m using the Python SDK and using an admin’s JWT to authenticate. To do that, I’m trying to call the endpoint `/restapi/v1.0/account/~/call-log` as per documentation and several questions in this forum. On our salesforce ringcentral integration the pop up no longer shows the caller ID since we have updated it. It just comes up with the call queue thats the caller has rung opposed to the lead name/opp name etc.

Hi everyone, Two months ago, my company requested a toll-free number with High Volume SMS capability. After a long wait, support confirmed that the number is now enabled for this feature. However, when I check the features of this number via the API, I only see CallerId and SmsSender — there's no A2PSmsSender. We reached out to support again, and they mentioned that they tested the number and confirmed that it should be capable of sending mass messages. But when we try to send a request to /restapi/v1.0/account/~/a2p-sms/batches, we get the following error: Parameter [from] value is invalid. Could someone help clarify why this might be happening? Is there something else that needs to be enabled on the toll-free number, or are we possibly using the wrong sender ID? Thanks in advance for any guidance!

I was wondering what happens after the 14 day trial of the https://notificationsplus.ps.ringcentral.com/ app and whether or not my RingCentral subscription includes this extension. All I am using it for is to send a webhook for inbound calls to our sales extension so I can trigger a sound to be made for the office to hear over a loud speaker. If it costs extra, I would like to know hoe much, but the AI Chat Bots are entirely useless. They have never heard of this and claim to have no idea what I am talking about.

Has anyone run into this and know the solution? … We use the Ring Central widget within our web application. When the user clicks a phone # from within our website, we load the Ring Central widget call feature and prefill the phone #. When the user clicks the text option from within our website, we load the Ring Central widget text feature and prefill the phone #. However, if user has clicked the text option and then later clicked the phone #, we can’t get the Ring Central widget to load the call feature. It always loads the text feature. Are we missing something or is this a known issue with the widget?

Our office has RingCentral integrated into Clio. It seems like when my boss logs in and out of Clio or RingCentral the settings saved in RingCentral for this app integration arent saved. This issue does not happen to me so I am wondering if its a particular setting he has for his RingCentral Chrome extension (“This can read or change site data” setting).

Is there a way to retrieve AI transcripts/notes and AI summaries of calls using the API?

Hi, I am trying to see if I can get this: data programmatically through the API. I haven’t been able to see anything in the documentation and from what I’m aware this is a newer feature. Are there any plans to implement this? I understand there is a workaround by using Get on CallRecording and feeding the recording into the AI Insights/Audio endpoint, but getting this data directly and having it be the same as what is displayed to the user would be ideal.

We were having integration with multiple different telephony service providers like RingCentral, 8x8 and 3CX, we already completed integration with RingCentral, but having some hard times with 8x8 and 3CX integrations. Today I came across to a very interesting feature in Twilio called “caller verification id” where you can make a call with a phone number but show totally different phone number to callee, I think they’re just defining what phone number to show to callee in SIP headers. we’re using RingCentral Softphone TS to make calls, we also transfer SIP messages with RingCentral, is there any possibility to show a different phone number to callee but call with totally different phone number in RingCentral Softphone TS ? If this is possible, it would really help with our pain, we would just use 1 RingCentral phone number to call but show phone number of our clients to callee, so we wouldn’t have to waste time on 8x8 and 3CX integrations. We archive our SMS data (texts and attachments) routinely with the message store exports API. However, ever since 6/13 the jobs were taking hours on end to complete or failing. Now I could start a job and it would probably never complete. I did open ticket 28218998 with support and the response is basically, “Yeah it is broken. No timeline on a fix.” I asked if they could even give a rough timeline like a month, two months, or longer and nothing. It kinda feels like this API is going to be deprecated. Is anyone else also running into this with this API? Could it possibly be something on my side? Yes, I know you could use the listExtensions API to then use the listMessages API and the readMessageContent API, but it is a PIA to go down that route when message store exports worked so well.

I set the call logging preferences by turning off Call Type “Missed calls with or without voicemail” however, the incoming missed calls are still being logged in CRM activity.

Hello, I am trying to construct the URL to fetch media objects from the conversations through API calls. The documentation is not very clear on how to do this. I am able to only pull gif media objects through the get request but can’t be able to pull any other types of media objects using the same method that I have been able to successfully pull media objects. Can I kindly get some assistance on how to create the proper URLs to pull pdfs, CSVs and other type of media objects as I have not found any examples of how to create urls. Hello,I'm working with the RingCentral telephony session webhook (/restapi/v1.0/account/~/telephony/sessions) to monitor inbound call flows. Here’s the scenario: Caller A dials our main company number B . Number B is connected to an IVR menu that routes the call to number C. In the webhook payload, I only see the final leg showing a call from A to C, but the intermediate number B (the company/IVR forward number) is not included in the payload. Is there any setting or alternative API/webhook that allows me to see all legs, including the intermediate number (like IVR or main number) used in the transfer or routing? Also tried checking logs with ?view=Detailed parameter, still did not see it. I’ve read that: Webhook data omits parties not belonging to the account/extension. Transferred or forwarded sessions may be separate. If that's the case, how can I correlate the full call flow from A → B → C using available APIs? Any guidance is appreciated. Thank you!
