Where do I see Contact groups on the Desktop/Phone Apps?

I made a Contact Group from the web portal (under "Personal" and "Create Group") however when switching back to the Desktop app and Phone apps, the Groups that were made is not being shown. How do I see the groups in the Contact tab?

Porting international number out of RingCentral to an international provider

We purchased several international numbers to cover calls coming from Mexico, and now we would like to port one of them out to our new provider Alestra, in Mexico. When we attempt to create the porting letter, only the domestic numbers are listed. Is it possible to port out an international number?

Texting is a main part of my business and now part of my sales process, so is there a way to get reports of how many text each user sends?

I am with Clean Slate Tax, users of RingCentral and we use texting more to reach our clients that we made it part of our sales process. Is there any way to get reports of users for the amount of texts sent, when, and so on? If there isn't, then is there a way to get reports of how many text each user sends? I would like to request that.

SMS to Site Numbers

We have several main numbers to our locations that are setup as site numbers. For some reason customers will text these numbers. We are unable to respond via SMS to the customer from these numbers and more times than not we have no idea who they are trying to reach. What can be done to stop these texts and ultimately stop the billing associated with them?

Is there a workaround to send and receive PDF's through SMS on the mobile or desktop app?

I find hard to believe that the mobile or desktop app wont allow me to attach a PDF. That is the most basic attachment needed for most businesses. Is there a workaround for this issue?

Hide or administer company contacts

Hi, I'm new to RC. Created our account today and synced our Microsoft 365 contacts but it brings hidden GAL accounts as well as disabled and guests. How can this be managed? looked at the admin portal and did not find a way to filter it. Tried to open a case but it says I don't have the correct admin rights even when I'm super admin.

Is there a way to add custom fields to a fax cover page?

Hello!Is it possible to add custom fields to a fax cover page? I know that there are pre-selected fields that can populate, such as "{Notes}" and "{Recipient Name}". But if I want to make a new variable, such as "{Subject}", is that possible? I haven't had any luck digging through Ring Central's previous questions. Thank you!

User being set as offline quicker than time out settings (30mins)

We use the RingCentral apps on our work computers and therefore have it open all the time. One user is being set as offline (and therefore receiving emails for all notifications) within the 30mins time out setting and with the program still open (albeit behind other windows). How can we stop him from being set to offline when the program is open?

Using Ring Central with a basic (non-smart) cell phone

I am buying a Light Phone which is a simple cell phone with no apps. I would like to be able to use it with my Ring Central number as my RC device. Effectively, it would become my work phone. Is it possible to set up RC to use this phone as my device?

Business partner uses short codes for text messages, i can read them but can not respond. how does this get resolved. Must cancel if unable to to enable short code text responses.

Only option for global company contact list is seriously a spreadsheet we have to upkeep?

Am I seriously finding that the only option for a global company contact list is seriously a spreadsheet we have to upkeep? I found the "external shared contacts directory" and am shocked this could be the only option in an advanced company phone app?? We update contacts daily! Is there any plans for development? It looks like people have been requesting this feature for 4 years and the best option is still cumbersome and outdated. Has anyone had any luck on something that works?

Role Changes for existing user

If you have an existing user who is setup with Role - standard(international) access then you modify the user Role to only have Internal access with desktop. The user previously had messages with external user they invited does the messaging with that user remain active when you change the Role to internal only ?

Forward Incoming Calls to User Phone Number Over to Main Company Number

We are a medical office, and all phones are "community" phones. Each phone does not have an individual user. We need all calls to user phone numbers to automatically follow the company rules and ring through the main auto-receptionist. All I need is for any of our multiple phone numbers to behave as if the main number was called without having to set up schedules for every individual user. When trying to forward to the main company number, I receive an error message stating that I cannot forward to a number included in my account and that I have to use the extension number instead. The problem is, if I forward to the auto-receptionist main menu extension, the office hours rules from the auto- receptionist company hours are not followed and the phones ring after hours. The only solution I have to this problem so far is to purchase a dummy cellphone and set that phone to auto-forward all calls to our main company number, then forward in RingCentral to the dummy cell phone. Help

Can't Access shared directory on Yealink W56H phones

I just started working with RC with an office pro account and simultaneously purchased A Yealink W60P and 3 additional W56H wireless DECT phones. I had done a lot of research on the phone beforehand and learned that the handsets had a shared directory feature, whereby if you add a contact to any phone the contact gets added to all phones. There is also a local directory where contact additions are only saved on that phone. My problem is that after going through the activation and configuration process with Ring Central, there is no access to the shared directory, only the local directory. The RC support person spent a lot of time trying to figure out why the shared directory feature of the phone was not working, and I have spent hours googling, looking thru forums, etc, all to no avail. Does anybody know why I would be having this problem and, more importantly, how I can fix it? Having to add each new contact 4 separate times for each handset would be a dealbreaker and I will have to c

Call queue calls showing as missed when another member of the call queue answered the call

Hi, we have set up a call queue with several agents. Even if an agent answers a call, the other agents in the queue show the same call as missed. Is there a setting that can be activated so all of the call queue agents show the call as answered?

Where is the Callback ACD Recording?

Using the Contact History Report, I can listen to the ACD Recording of Inbound and Outbound calls, but not Callbacks and Voicemails. I know where to retrieve the Voicemail file, but where is the ACD Recording of the call that follows?

Does anyone know of an API that allows for text drip campaigns to be created to keep customers notified of updates

My company would like to establish automated text drip campaigns through what I would assume to be an API/CRM that could be integrated with RingCentral. Ideally, this would send out automated text messages to our customers the day prior to their rentals being delivered, another automated text to notify customers that their rental ends tomorrow and that they must call us to schedule pickup, and then automated reminder texts each week updating their balance for the additional days of the rental ($70 for example) while also reminding the customer they must call us to schedule a pickup. Park Call Soft Keys not working

I was able to set up 2 park locations that display on our Poly Phones, however I cannot get them to work. 1) The lines do not blink or light at all to indicate that a call is parked there 2) you cannot pick up the parked call by hitting the soft key, we simply get an error message "Call is no longer available to pick up", but if you dial in to the park location the call is actually still there. Anyone have any solutions?

Trouble Receiving Some Faxes

We use Message-only extensions for receiving faxes and have about 25 of them set up for various departments. Received faxes are then sent to shared email boxes for each department. This generally works well. I've received a couple complaints this week about faxes being partially received. A look at the call log shows that most of our fax extensions have plenty of errors and partials. A couple of our busier extensions have none, but those departments mainly receive from big healthcare systems who use e-fax. (RC blocking some of those as robocalls is a different problem) I've been doing this long enough to know that the most likely explanation is the sender but the fact that I have so many errors in the logs over the last 60 days leads me to wonder if anyone else using RC to receive faxes has noticed an uptick. To be fair, I don't have any history to compare this to, so maybe it's always been like this. Or maybe the senders phone lines are crap lately? The RC admin porta
