RingEX: Phone, SMS, & Fax

My team is constantly having issues with the agent leg not connecting and auto refusing calls.  Is there a way to correct this? Please help !  Its almost a daily issue. 

A group message was created by someone else who does not use Ring Central. When a ring central member went to reply in the group message stating only his name in the text message “John Smith”- an error message then popped up saying “unable to send message. Exceeded maximum recipients for a group message MMS.” But the other guy in the group message that was ring Central user could send a message just fine. Also when a photo was sent in the group message the other Ring Central guy who had no problems sending a message then could not receive the photo that was being sent into the group message. And the guy who couldn't send a message in the group message WAS able to see the photo.

Hi all,I’ve been running into persistent issues with the RingCentral Android app and wondering if others are experiencing the same — or have found a fix.❗ The Errors I'm Seeing: Every time I open the Phone tab in the app, I get this popup: "Phone calls only" Sorry, we are having a temporary server issue. You can continue to make and receive phone calls, but cannot use other features. Occasionally, I also get: "Cannot recover" Sorry, we're having trouble recovering your app. ✅ What Works: I can make and receive calls Voicemail and fax features work fine 🛠️ What I've Tried: Reinstalled the app Cleared storage/cache Granted all app permissions (Phone, Contacts, SMS, etc.) Tried on Wi-Fi and mobile data Verified that the app is not battery-optimized or restricted The issue has been there since I first installed the app I’m starting to wonder if it’s a provisioning problem (like messaging/SMS not enabled on the backend), but I can’t confirm.Anyone else seeing this? New User, New account, Not yet set up.  What new # should I assign my cell phone I just bought?  Do I use “my calls #,” “Company calls #,” or another number I choose? 

I hope I can explain this in a way that makes sense:We have a user who manages and makes calls for multiple offices. Is there a way to grant this 1 user access to several other phone numbers/accounts so that if someone in Office A is out, their calls automatically ring thru to our User and they can manage them? And if 5 people are out in 5 different offices, can their calls all can also be answered by our User?We can’t create call queues for all of this and we know we can add users to accounts, but I am not sure how the call routing is handled in that situation.These may be in cases where it’s only for an hour or multiple days, so to go in and set up forwarding each time, and to do this for multiple people would be too much to manage for one person (me).

We use Yealink T43U phones in our environment. When they provision through RingCentral the upper three buttons display the users name, and I’d like them to display the user's extension number. RingCentral can apply a custom config to the phones through professional services, but I’d need to do this everytime I added a new phone. Is there another way to accomplish this ?  Without changing the users name to ext in profile. 

We are about to switch computers where our phones are connected. Our goal is to transfer the information to a different computer so our landline will work again (every time we shut off our desktop the landline shuts off and we have no dial tone). The calls are being forwarded to another cellphone so we can still accept calls but we can no longer call out on our landline (231-767-1181). Please advise us how to transfer to another computer so our landline turns back on. We have already downloaded the software onto another computer and logged into the portal on the software, but it did not help the issue. As soon as we shut down the old desktop the landline went down again. How do I send a fax from my desktop

I’m receiving this message recently.  It is new as prior to a few days ago I could send pictures.Pixel 9, Android version 15, RingCentral App version 25.2.35.450029 I attempt to send any picture, either from gallery or taken directly through the app this message is displayed.  This is a new issue and I’m trying to figure out if this is a setting that changed or if there is some new restrictions I’m unaware of.

We ony use it for internal company communication, but got registered anyway and were able to send SMS until July 9th.  Since then we have the block that states we can’t send, only receive.  All efforts to get it resolved have been met with silence, meaning that RC says it is in the hands of TCR and there is no way to get any update. However, we do not know the reason it stopped, what to do, or if there is something we have to submit to them to get it resolved. Our tech people say that they cannot get anywhere, so I thought of trying this forum to find avenues that could help. Right now company wide texting is shut down, which is a significant problem.

We just switched to RingCentral and are trying to utilize the intercom system with the Yealink T48s and Expansion docks. We have gotten the intercom to work by pressing Intercom on the Yealink T48 then entering the Extension Number we wish to use. However when we add someone to the expansion hotkey and setting it up with Intercom to a specific user it just rings the user.How do we get this to work on the Yealink T48s with Expansions?

Unable to make/receive calls on a specific computer in both RC desktop app and browser. The dial button is greyed out with a message saying there is something wrong with RingCentral service. But when I sign in on another computer, everything works fine. Please assist.

When checked the RingCentral Analytics can see the Client to server Ip starting with 205.xx.xx.xx but in the RingCentral article stating advertised IP supernets 205 ip is not in the list. So wanted to understand the exact RC call Routing. IF anyone can help then that would be great.

Hello Everybody!I tried to make a call on my computer, and I received an error advising that there was a problem and I needed to try again later. 

We have hundreds of phones and users and are in a transition to go with RC from our old on prem Mitel equipment.. Our front desks currently use a generic user for their extension i.e. Admit 1, 2 ,3 etc. occasionally someone is out sick and a floating personnel is put in their place and currently has no issue being on the generic account using “front desk 1”’s extension and mitel app.going forward we need to phase out the generic account for accountability reasons. is there a RC feature or set up that allows a temp person to sit down at a shared desk and use the “front desk 1” extension but with their own personal account log in on a connected app so we can keep track of who is doing what? (beyond manually swapping user extensions every time they move someone around to cover). the important factor is the extension number stays the same since it’s in a directory.

Over the past two weeks we have started receiving SMS messages with the message “help”.  The inbound numbers are random and very infrequently the same.  The majority of the numbers being targeted are not published so am assuming a bad character somehow retrieved them.  In looking through the SMS logs concentrating on Company Numbers I am seeing the inbound text and then an immediate outbound text to that very number.  These Company Numbers are only monitored by myself and am not responding to these texts.  When logged into the app as admin I am not seeing any outbound text.  Also, the admin account receives other texts but am not seeing any similar auto response. Any ideas why these auto responses are being generated?   Thank you,Susan  

I have 4 x accounts all linked. In the RingCentral Desktop app under contacts the user sees all users as contacts from all 4 accounts. Is there any way to restrict it to just see the users from the account that the user belongs to?

On the poly phones I set every phone to have shortcuts to all of our other locations. Each phone’s extension at a location is, say, 201#, and the extension that rings all the phones at that location is 201. On another page of the presence I have user extensions for the other locations, ex. 101, 102, 202, 301… These shortcuts used to work, but now none of them do, even the in-store ‘ring all phones’ extension. Now they all send you to hold music and then you’re timed out to voicemail. However, if you dial the store locations with a 0 at the end of them, ex. 1010, 1020, 2020, 3010… then it works. I could go back through all the phones and replace the user extensions with speed dials with the 1010…, but that would take forever, and they used to work. So I’m thinking there’s like one or two settings that got changed that I could change back to fix them all. Thank you!

The most recent updated of Ring Central removed the keypad button command that brought the keypad to the front of your window while the keypad is in a popout window. Now, the only way to get to the keypad is through the taskbar or your window switcher. The keypad area only provides a “reattach” command if in popout mode. The command button before this update was always available above the Phone command bar and made it easy to show and hide the keypad while in a popout window. Please work to add the command button back as it improved efficiency and workflow.

Anyone having issues with Mobile RC app dialing internal calls? I am getting no calls on mobile app but in PC, calls are coming. NB: external calls to RC is ringing in mobile App but internal calls doesn't ring on mobile app. tested on both Android and IOS. 

My incoming called ID information in the RingCentral Windows desktop app no longer pops-up starting about a month ago.I did not modify any settings that could have caused this issue.Disabling my Anti-Virus, Firewall, etc. did not resolve the problem.Missed calls do display in the Windows 10 notification area.The following settings are enabled:Display incoming call in the standalone windowsDisplay missed events in the taskbarDisplay incoming call in Notification enterAll assistance is appreciated!

How long does it typically take? I''ve added numbers and they have been sitting in Setup in Progress for 3 days. I have others that were ready almost immediately.

I have a scenario where members of a call queue all have their numbers forwarded to an external number (cell phone).   I can call the members directly and the forward works correctly and the call goes to that members cell phone.However, if I call the number assigned to the call queue - the forwarding doesn’t seem to work - none of their cell phones receive the call.Is this a limitation with call queues?   Is there another way to make this work?Thanks in advance.

Dear RingCentral Support Team,I'm writing to report a recent issue I've encountered with the RingCentral app on my iPhone. Since Wednesday of this week, I've noticed that calls to extension (147) are not ringing correctly on my iPhone. My user is Eliot Houman, extension 101. Specifically, the app only rings for about half a second on my iphone and then stops, making it impossible to answer calls on my iPhone. These calls are supposed to be routed simultaneously to both my desktop app and my mobile phone. While the desktop app rings normally for the full duration of the call, the issue seems to be isolated to the mobile app on my iPhone.This abrupt stop in ringing is causing significant inconvenience, and I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter. Could you please investigate this issue and provide guidance on how to fix it?Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Hi, I have applied and after weeks of back and forth with ddetails, SMS registration was approved ...BUT still not able to text via app.  the app (when logged in under a different extension) says “register for text messaging. So I applied for all the associated numbers to be added and approved as well. and for days it just says “status in progress.”  ultimately what i want is a SHARED SMS inbox so that as customer text messages come in via the main line or if we send a text message from anyone’s extention, ANY of the employees logged into the app with their own extention can respond…..BUT i want responses to look like they are coming from the SAME MAIN LINE.please help.
