RingEX: Phone, SMS, & Fax

I can't be the only one that isn't pleased with them moving the text messages from the left menu bar to the call button on the bottom and taking away our ability to Archive and Mark messages unread? Is there a way to change it back? We are a bridal store and work with our clients anywhere from 1 day to 18 months and we can't simply delete a conversation but would like to take it out of the inbox to see the new messages that haven't been responded yet or ones that need to be reviewed. -Yuriy

Like most everyone, we are attempting to fend off Robo-calls and calls from bad actors. I thought we could enable Call Screening Based on Contacts List(s) to help with this. However, when one of these (or test) calls is made, the caller is asked for their name and to press #, but the call completes anyway(?). The called party hears the phone ring, they answer, and nothing is different.The called party should hear what the caller says their name is and have an opportunity to reject the call....correct?

I had this problem and could not find a clear answer. The Polycom IP 6000 conference phones are now available for under $50 refurbished rather than 10 time that price new. That means a lot of people are going to buy an inexpensive Conference phone. The problem is that the phone can be configured to work with RingCentral, but they go into a BOOT LOOP causing them to re-boot every 30 seconds or so. The problem is that the latest firmware, which is installed on the phone, is not compatible with RingCentral. Here is the fix.1) Plug the phone in and get connected to your network. 2) find the ip address (Menu, Status Ip)3) go to the phone in a browser. The default password is 4564) go to Utilities/ Software Upgrade/Check for Upgrades.5) click the down arrow and select 4.0.9.11916) click Install7) say yes to warning that the phone will be downgraded, then accept , then OK8) Phone will reboot after firmware install.9) Provision as normal using the MAC address

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has advice on what to do..Our main line number is constantly ringing with people calling saying they received a phone call from this number and they were just calling back.But we are not making any phone calls hardly at all and we haven't made any from the main number. (Note : this is a new account) ,Our main number is constantly ringing with people calling back saying they are returning a call even though we are not making any outgoing calls at all. Has anyone else experienced this and/or have any recommendations we had to turn the number off because it was just constantly ringing, but always "I received a call from this number just calling it back" type response.

We would like to enhance our ring central account to be able to send simple surveys to customers via SMS after communicating with them via phone and text messaging in the Ring Central app. Then we want to gather the responses to produce reports - in excel or another app if we must integrate another app. Does this capability exist or can it be added?

Do you know where I can find a live dashboard - something I could put on a big TV screen - so analysts taking calls can see how many calls are waiting in queue, and how long they have been waiting for?Thanks in advance!

We have had repeated instances where a RCV meeting is set up through the Outlook plugin, and after the meeting is saved, the settings change. The meetings are set up with no password, people can join before the host, and no one is sent to waiting room (in other words, the three default checkboxes are unchecked). When invitees outside our org attempt to join the meeting, they are placed in a waiting room. When the host checks the settings, they are not what was set (the waiting room box is checked).We have seen this with 3 different users, and two of those are highly experienced admins who have been going back and checking their settings to make sure the meetings are set up correctly. This is a critical problem for us as these admins often are setting up a meeting that they may not be attending, so people are left stuck in the waiting room with no one to let them in.We are familiar with the delegation feature and use it, but that is not relevant to this issue--your meeting settings shou

Certain traditional Avaya PBX phone systems allow Executive Assistants to view their Executives Call Log (specifically Missed Calls) from their deskphone. Can this be enabled in RingCentral deskphones as well, please and thanks?

Is it possible to text to a specific extension rather than just the main number? We get texts that are intended for different business units and it gets confusing.,Is it possible for an outside person to text to a specific extension? Rather than the main number? We are having issues with texts coming in for different parts of our business and it is getting confusing.

I've been using Ringcentral for several years now, and have never used or given out the toll free number assigned to me by Ringcentral. I get a minimum of 10 spam calls to this number per week, and each one is a 5-6 cent charge. Is there any way to block all inbound calls to the Ringcentral-assigned toll free number? I am just as happy to delete the number, if that's the only option available. Thanks for any help you can give!

I'm not receiving incoming calls on RingCentral app on Iphone 7 Plus. However, I can see every missed call on my call log. I have checked the settings on the app to ensure I didn't silence incoming calls. I have also checked notifications on my Iphone 7 Plus to make sure I receive notifications if phone is locked and that sounds/badges always show. Help please!

I have four receptionists that answer our main line.  I need them to be able to see the presence of the other receptionist's extensions and be able to forward to an answering service if the call is missed.  What is a good solution to make this happen?

We're US users of RingCentral.We're a small team and don't currently have a receptionist/secretary to handle calls. For the past few months, we have given each user their own username/password combination to sign into a dedicated extension on the RingCentral platform. We also supplement this with a shared login (via the now-defunct RC Phone App) to access voicemails and messages that come directly to the main company number so that nothing falls through the cracks if one team member happens to be busy.My question is this - since the RC Phone App has been discontinued, we're no longer able to sign in to the shared call group extension to receive/respond to voicemails and incoming text messages that go to the main company number.What's the solution to this? I'm sure this is a fairly common use case where a number of team members need to be able to monitor text messages and voicemails to a shared company number.I'm at a loss, but desperately need to find a solution so that we can continue

I'm on latest version of RC app, and using a recent Samsung S20FE. I can't find out how I can use my own custom ringtone for the RC app. I know I can use the same one my actual phone uses, but I want a different tone for RC phone, and I don't want one of the built -in tones.

Is there a way to add a voicemail we can just click on and change the date range when we are closed for vacation instead of just after hours?,Is there an option to easily switch from one voicemail to another from after hours to closed for vacation?

,Had to load this app at my contractor's request. Works fine when I'm off Bluetooth in my vehicle, however, when my truck picks up my Samsung S-10 it works until the app receives a call. Rings once, then disconnects. If I disable Bluetooth in my vehicle, it actually rings and then I'm able to connect back to my truck by re-enabling Bluetooth on the phone. I'm a tech support specialist and rely on this app to accept calls. Is there a fix to this other than disabling Bluetooth every time I step into my truck? Again, rings once, disconnects. I loose money every time that happens.

Is it possible to add something to the Fax itself that will be returned in the body or subject of the email confirmation? I need to put a unique identifier in it so that when I get the email confirmation I can match it up to the Fax record in our DB.

Giving the caller an option to leave a voicemail or switch over to the Assistant.,Is there a way an Advisor can say in his voicemail, "To reach my assistant, please press (and then say a number or an extension)? but not having his phone automatically forward to said assistant? Giving callers the option to leave a voicemail or talk to assistant instead.
