I just updated to the new version of the RingCentral app and I'm very confused! When I create a new fax, the only information it asks for is the fax number, which cover page, and the note you'd like to add to the cover page. There's no place to add the recipient's info. The cover sheet, no matter which one I choose, ends up only having my company's information filled out. Am I missing something? Where are the recipient fields?

In the desktop "Phone App" (not the RC App) there is a setting to connect to Outlook contacts and it includes all/any Contacts subfolders of Contacts. This setting will enable displaying Contact names instead of phone numbers in the sms messages (instead of their phone number) and also enables us contacting them by name easier within the RC App. Now that we are trying to move fully to only the RC App on mobile and all other devices including Windows desktops, all our Contacts are in a Microsoft account - so we use the Connect to Microsoft setting in the RC app, BUT it is NOT displaying contact names in any of our Microsoft Contacts subfolders - we manage several subfolders of contacts to enable finding/browsing them easier on all our devices (mobile/tablet/computers) and also for sharing only specific contacts with other users. Only the contacts in the root/default Contacts folder is being connected by the RC Contacts Connect function. We have had to reinstall the old RC Phone App

Here is the issue with "ask first" not working all the time:Agent 1 answers call from call queueAgent 1 then searches for Agent 2, clicks on Agent 2 name, then clicks on "ask first" to warm transfer the call that came into the queue.The system then calls Agent 2, Agent 2 picks up the phone but cannot hear Agent 1. In turn Agent 1 doesn't hear Agent 2 and cannot "ask first" to transfer the call. There's just "dead air" on both ends.When "ask first" doesn't work, the greeting and hold music is "cut" when Agent 1 clicks on "ask first" and there is no hold music when calling Agent 2. This is the "tell" to Agent 1 that "ask first" is going to fail.Is this a known issue with "ask first" not working all the time? Recently we changed our Message Retention policy from "Keep all messages" to retain only the last 90 days. The process to purge messages runs nightly according to RC documentation. However, any messages created before the date of the policy change do not get removed. I've opened a ticket with RC and the response is that only messages created AFTER the date of the policy change will be affected. In addition, I've been told by RC that they do not have a way to delete old messages but there "MAY" be a way for a site superadmin to delete messages. I'm interested in removing messages older than 90 days and then let the message retention policy do the work going forward. Does anyone know how to delete old messages?

Just to preface, I have a user I'm trying to edit since they have 2 lines and phones attached to them. I need to remove one, though I'm not getting the option to do so. Is there anything that can be done to remove a phone from the user? Or will this be a situation where the user has to be removed and a few things moved around to get everything to work how I need it to? Edit: Follow up question, would moving the line to a new user being created be feasible or would that just cause the same issue I'm running into currently?

We have an agent that when an call comes in from the outside and not part of the max agent contact center it causes the Max Agent to crash. Happens several times a day. Not sure how to debug this. It does not happen for all agents and there is nothing obviously incorrect with the setup for the agent. Appreciate any insight.

I have the RingCentral Desktop app connected to my Microsoft account, but not all of the contacts seem to be syncing. In my contacts in MSFT, I have a sub-folder, and none of those are pulling into RingCentral. Any ideas?

Does anyone know when the custom fax cover sheet will be available in the desktop app?

New to Ring Central. We get a lot of calls that when we answer no one is on the other end. Is it possible that spam caller computers don't work well with VOIP and disconnect before annoying us or are we missing legitimate calls??

Been using RC Phone on Win 10 for a while with my Jabra headset, it worked great. So I decided to switch to the bigger RC app to get familiar with it before we end up switching our entire organization. But there's a problem...I have no audio on OUTBOUND calls. If somebody calls me, it works great. If I call out, even internal numbers and queues, there is no audio at all. The headset still works perfectly for Teams calls and meetings through Windows, but not outgoing calls with the RC Desktop App.

This web page says it is supported. RingCentral Online Account | Supported BrowsersI can't find any info on how to do it. I do it with Chrome but want to use EDGE

We would like to use the Ring Central Desktop app to one-click fax or text non-Ring Central numbers. It's not reasonable to ask all the doctors' offices we fax, and doctors we text, to provide an email address and ask them to take time to download and setup a Ring Central app. They just won't do it. It seems reasonable that if I can type in a random phone number to send a text, that I would be able to save that number in a list of contacts. Maybe there is a way to access our "personal" contacts from ringcentral.com? We use the Standard plan. Thank you.

I bought a CISCO CP 8861 phone from an online retailer since it was on the list of phones supported by RingCentral. I tried to auto provision and it failed. I then tried to reach the phone using its ip address in a browser so that I could manually provision. I kept getting a message that the connection was refused. I could ping the phone but not get it in a browser. I spent an hour with Ring Central tech support and got no where. Then it was another hour with CISCO to learn that I needed the support contract number held by the Amazon seller. I called him and found out the answer to the problem, which I am posting here so other users don't waste 3 hours. When you buy a CISCO phone from Ring Central it is a 3PCC model and will work. When buying from others, unless your get the 3PCC model, the phone will never work on RingCentral. Why? CISCO originally built its phones for CISCO phone systems. So all of our inbound, unanswered phone calls go to our emails. However, all of the transcriptions come, but without the audio recording. As nice as the feature is, it doesn't always provide the most accurate version of what people say. I am curious to know if there is something wrong with our set up. All admin have permissions and receive the emails, they just do NOT include the audio player with them. Is there any way to fix this?

My Windows administrator is having some challenges deploying the RC app via .exe. Deploying the .msi file is certainly easier and more reliable, but we'd like our end-users to at least be prompted to update when an update is available. Are there any additional options for deploying the RC UC app with auto-update? Thanks.

We have a need to disable auto-update of the RingCentral App (newest version). It appears to auto-update and our desire would be to push those updates out intentionally and in a controlled way for multiple reasons. This would be for the Windows desktop version.I can't find any articles related to this latest version. Hoping someone has tackled this.

We need to have one of our lines work like a landline so an alarm can use to call out. What hardware do we need or is available that has a port on it for a regular phone? Thanks.

I ported a number from Google Voice to RC today, and am in the process of provisioning my phone. I'm a little lost when navigating the menus because I can't find an advanced settings list. There's a device admin and unlock admin settings menus, but I am unable to access them due to an invalid password. I did do a reboot and cancellation to reset the password to 456. That password worked when I rebooted it, but I can't use it to access some menus. I've tried modes IPV4 and 123. I did change the addressing type from static to DHCP.

I have a ticket open already but wondering if this is isolated to our organization. Emails going out via @rcfax.com appear to not be processed by RingCentral. Looking through the logs on our email servers I show the emails being received by RingCentral's SMTP server and getting back a 250 2.0.0 Ok: queued as XXXXXXXX. Faxes sent via the app is working but is not an acceptable solution for us as all faxes must be archived.

We have an organization with two separate entities on location. The secondary entity has a direct line and is forwarded to it's director. But the director also fields calls for the primary entity and needs a way to differentiate the incoming calls. Any ideas?

I am using custom integration between Salesforce and RingCentral and need to have different phone number for each user for sending sms. Got an error : Phone Number doesn`t belong to extention

We have a fax-only account, with up to 25 users able to send faxes via email. We hired a new person today, and when I went to add them to the list through 'outbound fax settings', the list of email addresses isn't there. How can I add new users? Also, possibly related, it seems that outgoing email faxes aren't going. Two of us tried. Nothing showed up in outbox or sent, no confirmations were received. It was working last week. Any ideas?

We have some users who are not showing up in the company directory in the App or Mobile App. I tried following https://support.ringcentral.com/app/admin/desktop-web/managing-company-directory-ringcentral-online-account.html but the options to Include in Company Directory are not on my admin portal.Is there anything I am missing?
