RingEX: Phone, SMS, & Fax

We have a message-only extension set up to receive after hour calls. It is configured to send a notification by both Email and SMS whenever a voicemail is left. This works fine most of the time.Occasionally we get only the email, but not the SMS notification, and it seems to be only when the voicemail is empty. Is this behavior by design?This is not a big problem since it only seems to happen when the voicemail is empty, but we wanted to make sure that's the only time it fails to send the SMS message. I tried to reproduce the behavior by calling and hanging up without leaving a voicemail but it always send both notifications in my testing.We are a very small company in the US with less than 15 extensions and a very simple setup.

Good afternoon! Our team is kicking around the thought of using Glip to communicate throughout our organization. I installed the Outlook plugin (Outlook2016) which seems to be working perfect except for a pretty hefty delay delivering (instant) messages. Sometimes it might send right away but the longest we have seen was as long as 15 minutes. Wondering if this is a known issue or something we may be able to configure differently to help? I'm unable to launch the RingCentral Phone application on my MacOS with Catalina (10.15.1). The MacOS says that it can not verify security and that the App needs to be updated. Is there a work around for this?The error message I get says, "RingCentral can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. The software needs to be update. Contact the developer for more information."

Hi, I am trying to fax to Thailand, but it says "Failed - Prohibited destination". What causes the error and how do I fix it? Maybe there is an international fax feature or billing I have to turn on? Thanks.

A few hours ago, I logged in to the Ring Central app, and my login failed with the error "this email is already registered: <my-email>", and then the app would loop back to the initial log in screen. This continued for some 30 minutes or so, and then I was able to successfully log in. Except that now all of my contacts are missing. Please advise. thank you

Currently have four businesses in four locations each with a POT (Plain old Telephone) Wanted to start a new business with pickup/delivery and a new number. Wanted that new number to be the only number used when called press 1 for manager, 2 for store 1, 3 for store 3, 7 for hour and location. Can I port my current numbers of each store so they stay at each store? Can I have more than one phone at each store with same phone number like currently do with office & counter? Can I have it where if a customer calls the old store number it will forward to the new main number and then transfer to the appropriate phone? Finally can I have all calls recorded for quality control?

Were a U.K. small business with 10 users, our main number rings within set working hours. We occasionally have a team meeting where everyone is involved and we cant answer the phone so would like to be able to engage the voicemail for our phone system and set a specific Pre-recorded message.The meetings are ad-hoc and not always at the same time, so we cant resolve by diverting to answerphone at a specific time.Is there some hardware, (a physical button?) that could be programmed to divert to an answer phone message when pressed and then restore the phone system to normal operating when pressed again?background// we use ringcentral soft phones and headsets, no physical phones. Some users also use the App when theyre out and about.

I'm in the US. My previous employer had a ringcentral account and I had the mobile app on my iphone with my direct line logged into it.I left that job and started my own company in April. I deleted the ringcentral app from my iPhone.I set up a ringcentral account for my new company about a month later and reinstalled the ringcentral app on my iPhone. I also downloaded the windows app on my new laptop. Ever since, I regularly get video chat calls for my old company number even though I'm not logged in to that account on either my laptop or my iPhone.For instance - this morning, a former co-worker started a video chat with the person who replaced me and another new employee. The video call came through on both my personal iPhone and my new laptop windows app and when I answered it, the person who replaced me also answered. I have premium account with 4 phones, 4 users. I added presence to all phones. The phones I am using are Polycom VVX250. There are 4 lines on the phone. When I changed the line options to 1, the user is labeled on line 1 of the phone, lines 2 and 3 show 2 other users, but line 4 is blank. How do I get the 4th user to show up on the phone on line 4?

I have a US based account, and whenever my number recieves a text message I get the email notification, but on my IOS app (10.3.1.1.37 51.10.31.5) and my desktop app on mac (10.2.1.31914 (64-bit)) I dont ever receive the text.-I have to have the app running, and be the one to start the conversation in order for it to work.-Started and responded conversations on Mac will show on IOS app and vice versa.-Opening a link from the email notification will launch the site to download but wont prompt the app.

If I am on a personal call and a call comes in through Ring Central, my calls are getting dropped. an yone having this issue? Is there a fix?

No ring heard when the call lands on the desktop app for windows. I use windows 10.

Desktop app doesn't work dialing other conference call providers. We can call conference # but can't get the access code to be accepted. What's going on?

Does anyone have recommended settings for Orbi Pro wireless router setup as it relates to QOS? We are experiencing high jitter and broken conversations from our soft phone app. UK account, 10 users, 1 Gbps up/down fibre Internet connection, iMac RC soft phones, Orbi Pro wireless setup (router and satellite). We have tried numerous configurations based on RC help articles and Netgear community topics, but jitter / dropping a few seconds of conversation is still too high. Any help or advice from other SMEs using Orbi and RingCentral would be appreciated.

I would like to deploy the RC Apps (meetings, GLIP, Phone and Outlook plugin with the "Check for updates option turned off.Is there any way to do this for all? Our users are getting prompted to update/upgrade and they do not have sufficient permission to do so. We would like to manage deployments and update our whole organization through GPO .. not randomly by user. Turning updates off would help us manage this.Any ideas?

disable call forwarding

I have an iPhone X and have updated to the newest Ring Central app. When I am on a Ring Central call and my cell phone rings, the Ring Central call will be cut off and vice versa. It's hard to use my cell phone without worrying that either a RingCentral or cell phone call will be cut off. Any suggestions?

Are robo dialers capable of pressing keys to advance through IVR menus, and if so, do they tend to follow any specific strategy (e.g., spamming #)? We have a page group with both desk phones and Cyberdata device and when paging this group the desk phones work but the overhead speakers do not. In troubleshooting with Cyberdata we made a group with just the paging device. Trying to page from the desk phones to the test group receives a unexpected network error message BUT when paging from the RC mobile app on a cellphone this group works (using *84+groupnumber) and the page is heard from the overhead speakers. We initially thought it might be a firewall issue but since it works from the mobile app I think that is ruled out.Any thoughts on what might keep the desk phones from using the Cyberdata device?

I am installing the RingCentral app on several of our Macs,and unless I am missing it, I dont see a setting in preferences for the app to launch at boot/login.Is this set somewhere else?

If it's only one app for all communications why should I need to keep the RC phone app on my cell to make and receive calls? I don't want to use the GLIP/ RingCentral app and a headset in my office. The only option in that app says if it's turned off that i have to use the RC App to make or take calls. Is that still the case?

We are offering phone support to another established office in another town, we run separate businesses. When THEY make calls from their phone, caller ID (what the client see) should be THEIR phone number (not ours). It also would be nice to have an identification ring for when their calls get transferred here, we know to answer it differently. We have set a specific ring type set (in our phone's contacts), but that only works when that office calls us directly. We have call display set to "number called" so that is a temporary fix, but we are missing the caller display.

My ringcentral admin is getting personal text messages of selective ringcentral users in her inbox. She is getting personal texts from personal phone # to another personal #. Is this a security bug ringcentral should look into ?
