RingEX: Phone, SMS, & Fax

Is there still not a way to see deleted text messages? The last time someone asked was in 2020. I called and the person I was spoke with kept insisting I could and trying to walk me through it, but what he was trying to get me to do did not make sense.

On the RC App, contacts are sorted by FIRST name. There is no way to change sort order. This is nuts and has to be an error? I've called about this a few times and do not get very far. Can this be updated immediately as a critical fix and not wait for a standard build and quarterly update? To be clear, contacts should be sorted by LAST Name: Jane Doe should be listed in the D's and not the Js.

My company has a need for outside users (non Ring Central numbers) to text a common number as a "help" line to speak with a technician. The problem I have is I need this to be setup similar to a shared inbox. Meaning, a text comes in, a number of defined technicians see it, first available responds. I would like the response to come from the "help line" number, not the individual number of the tech who responded. Is this possible?

Greetings,We have a few queues set to "Simultaneous" distribution to queue members and about to switch them to "Longest Idle".I have read that longest idle time will reset when a queue member answers an inbound call or initiates an outbound call - any call (doesn't have to be related to the queue in any way).If a queue member with the longest idle time doesn't answer an offered call, do they remain the member with the longest idle time? Or does that event reset their idle time? I'm hoping the next inbound call is also offered to them first.We are using MVP only, not the Contact Center offering.Does anyone know if a queue member's idle time starts over when they refuse a call?Thank you,DeAnna

Hi, I have removed a former employee from our system along with call queues he was in. For some reason his name still appears the email notification despite being removed from the call queue. Is another step I need to do remove this person?

Hi, we just got set up with RingCentral and I'm finding out we have the wrong phones. We have 5 different businesses out of one office. I need a phone that can show the business names and when we have a call on that line, light up with that name (or next to it). We also need to be able to call out with each different business number so that it will show our business name on the other persons phones. Thank you

When downloading a call recording for MVP via the embedded app in Teams, how does the number in the title relate to the call?

I'm trying to determine if there's a way to create an IVR option that would automate sending an SMS to a caller. For example, "If you would like a link to request party information sent to your phone, press 1". In turn the system would either send an SMS to the phone number that's calling with the link or it would ask the caller to enter the 10 digit number they would like the link sent to. Does anyone know a way to do this?

If I call someone and add another caller to the conversation (merge the calls), am I able to hang up and allow the other two people to continue talking? I don't want to transfer the call because I'd like to talk to both parties first before hanging up, but allow the other two parties to continue to talk.

Common Area phone can be added/ configured through the Admin Portal according the KB. Following are the steps described:Log in to your RingCentral online account > Go to Phone System > Phones & Devices > Click on Common Area Phones > Click add deviceUnfortunately we can't see Common Area Phones entry when we log in to our online account. We only have access to User phones and Unassigned. Is there some prerequisite required to be able to access Common Area Phone functionality?

Hello, everyone.We've been dealing with a problem for the past two months in which one of our users is unable to send text messages to a US local number. I raised the problem, but haven't received a single response from RingCentral technical support. This is a very unprofessional service; please do not use RingCentral Services any more.

How can you determine if this message is an issue on our end, or the end users? We have received faxes all day, but one specific incoming fax number has failed 7 times today, not all in a row. And earlier this month, this fax number worked fine. Thank you!

At my old company, we had a feature where we could directly pick up someone's line by clicking the button next to their name on the sidecar/phone screen and join their conversation without anyone having to conference the lines.Is that feature available on RingCentral? We would like to use it at my new company.

When bulk sending SMS, we always want to send SMS as individual messages rather than to a group. To do so, we manually uncheck "Create group text". This works as expected.The issue we are running into is that the people sending bulk SMS tend to forget to uncheck "Create group text".Is there a setting or a workaround to set default "Create group text" as UNCHECKED?

Is there a way to extend the amount of time a user has to dial a number when using their desk phone? We have Polycom VVX311's and some folks have had trouble dialing a number especially one they are not familiar with before it times out.

My company just got new Poly VVX 450 phones, and our primary operators have the expansion module with 30 additional line keys. We each added 20-25 internal extensions using the Ring Central App (in the HUD menu), but the results were inconsistent.Some of our phones displayed contacts on the expansion module only (skipping line keys 3-12 on the phone screen) while others started on line key 3 (on the phone screen) before spilling over to the expansion module. I can't find any setting that controls this.Is it possible to skip those line keys on the phone itself and start the contacts on the expansion module (I assume it would be line key 13)?

Hello,We have 3 users with ring central. We are having an issuewith call log. If user 1 does not answer the call, if it gets answered by line 2 or 3; it still comes as missed call on user 1. Now the employee on user 1 sees it as missed call on her ring central app even though it is answered by other lines and calls the customer again.If the call is answered by either of the lines it should come as answered in call log instead of missed call.Please kindly fix this problem.. or guide us through the solution. Any help will be appreciated!

THE NEW APP UPDATE DOES NOT PROVIDE THE DETAILS TAHT WERE AVILABLE LAST WEEK. iT NO LONGER SHOWS THE DATE, TIME AND USER NUMBERS IN THE MSSG APP. THIS CHANGE IS DEFICIENT. THIS CHANGE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. THE INFO IS NEEDED FOR TEXT MESSAGING CHRONOLGY. A TERRIBLE UPDATE!

Our company aims to streamline the ordering process by allowing customers to place orders via text. We'll only respond to texts initiated by customers. Do we need to register a campaign for this? And what's the best way to set it up?

We are using RingCentral app for Teams with the RingCentral for Teams Desktop Plugin. We have users when they receive a call their browser opens a new tab to www.goole.com. Just started today and it is happening to several users. I have verified they do not have RingCentral Desktop app installed, and the "Launch an external app or website for incoming calls" is not a setting in the Teams RC app. How do I resolve this for my users? Also, why was this turned on in the first place?

I have a client who bought Spectrum VoIP service. Spectrum partners with RingCentral to provide VoIP. RingCentral supports the Audiocodes MP504 analog telephone adapter. My client is experiencing momentary audio dropouts during calls that is directly impacting his business. (Also, he is not seeing Caller ID but this is a less significant problem.) When I contact Spectrum, they say they don't support third party devices (Audiocodes). When I contact Audiocodes, they won't help unless I pay $600 for support. When I contact RingCentral, they say my support request was "misrouted" and I need to contact Spectrum.The setup: Spectrum fiber:Ethernet bridge/media converter -> Audiocodes MP504 Gateway/analog telephone adapter -> NEC 2100 KSU. It's been suggested to see if the MP504 supports QoS but I can't find the correct username and password. The factory default is Admin:Admin but when SpectrumBusiness/RingCentral provisioned it, the credentials were changed. No
