RingEX: Phone, SMS, & Fax

We have several main numbers to our locations that are setup as site numbers. For some reason customers will text these numbers. We are unable to respond via SMS to the customer from these numbers and more times than not we have no idea who they are trying to reach. What can be done to stop these texts and ultimately stop the billing associated with them?

I find hard to believe that the mobile or desktop app wont allow me to attach a PDF. That is the most basic attachment needed for most businesses. Is there a workaround for this issue?

Hi, I'm new to RC. Created our account today and synced our Microsoft 365 contacts but it brings hidden GAL accounts as well as disabled and guests. How can this be managed? looked at the admin portal and did not find a way to filter it. Tried to open a case but it says I don't have the correct admin rights even when I'm super admin.

Hello!Is it possible to add custom fields to a fax cover page? I know that there are pre-selected fields that can populate, such as "{Notes}" and "{Recipient Name}". But if I want to make a new variable, such as "{Subject}", is that possible? I haven't had any luck digging through Ring Central's previous questions. Thank you!

how do I sort contacts by last name

We use the RingCentral apps on our work computers and therefore have it open all the time. One user is being set as offline (and therefore receiving emails for all notifications) within the 30mins time out setting and with the program still open (albeit behind other windows). How can we stop him from being set to offline when the program is open?

We using now RingEx premium and number of users(qty) 49.But, this plan not included send out SMS(aka. text message) function.If we want to use SMS function, how much charge more.Please let me know several pricing cases.Thank you!

I am buying a Light Phone which is a simple cell phone with no apps. I would like to be able to use it with my Ring Central number as my RC device. Effectively, it would become my work phone. Is it possible to set up RC to use this phone as my device?

Business partner uses short codes for text messages, i can read them but can not respond. how does this get resolved. Must cancel if unable to to enable short code text responses.

If you have an existing user who is setup with Role - standard(international) access then you modify the user Role to only have Internal access with desktop. The user previously had messages with external user they invited does the messaging with that user remain active when you change the Role to internal only ?

We are a medical office, and all phones are "community" phones. Each phone does not have an individual user. We need all calls to user phone numbers to automatically follow the company rules and ring through the main auto-receptionist. All I need is for any of our multiple phone numbers to behave as if the main number was called without having to set up schedules for every individual user. When trying to forward to the main company number, I receive an error message stating that I cannot forward to a number included in my account and that I have to use the extension number instead. The problem is, if I forward to the auto-receptionist main menu extension, the office hours rules from the auto- receptionist company hours are not followed and the phones ring after hours. The only solution I have to this problem so far is to purchase a dummy cellphone and set that phone to auto-forward all calls to our main company number, then forward in RingCentral to the dummy cell phone. Help

I just started working with RC with an office pro account and simultaneously purchased A Yealink W60P and 3 additional W56H wireless DECT phones. I had done a lot of research on the phone beforehand and learned that the handsets had a shared directory feature, whereby if you add a contact to any phone the contact gets added to all phones. There is also a local directory where contact additions are only saved on that phone. My problem is that after going through the activation and configuration process with Ring Central, there is no access to the shared directory, only the local directory. The RC support person spent a lot of time trying to figure out why the shared directory feature of the phone was not working, and I have spent hours googling, looking thru forums, etc, all to no avail. Does anybody know why I would be having this problem and, more importantly, how I can fix it? Using the Contact History Report, I can listen to the ACD Recording of Inbound and Outbound calls, but not Callbacks and Voicemails. I know where to retrieve the Voicemail file, but where is the ACD Recording of the call that follows?

My company would like to establish automated text drip campaigns through what I would assume to be an API/CRM that could be integrated with RingCentral. Ideally, this would send out automated text messages to our customers the day prior to their rentals being delivered, another automated text to notify customers that their rental ends tomorrow and that they must call us to schedule pickup, and then automated reminder texts each week updating their balance for the additional days of the rental ($70 for example) while also reminding the customer they must call us to schedule a pickup. I was able to set up 2 park locations that display on our Poly Phones, however I cannot get them to work. 1) The lines do not blink or light at all to indicate that a call is parked there 2) you cannot pick up the parked call by hitting the soft key, we simply get an error message "Call is no longer available to pick up", but if you dial in to the park location the call is actually still there. Anyone have any solutions?

We use Message-only extensions for receiving faxes and have about 25 of them set up for various departments. Received faxes are then sent to shared email boxes for each department. This generally works well. I've received a couple complaints this week about faxes being partially received. A look at the call log shows that most of our fax extensions have plenty of errors and partials. A couple of our busier extensions have none, but those departments mainly receive from big healthcare systems who use e-fax. (RC blocking some of those as robocalls is a different problem) I've been doing this long enough to know that the most likely explanation is the sender but the fact that I have so many errors in the logs over the last 60 days leads me to wonder if anyone else using RC to receive faxes has noticed an uptick. There should be a way to assign an MVP license without a DID number. We have people that do not need to receive direct calls but need a fully featured MVP account. I would like the ability to create MVP accounts with extensions only.

Good Afternoon,The agency I work for wants to have a hotline people can call in on and leave voicemails but they want it to be anonymous. I have been trying to find a way to set this up with a message-only extension but I have not been able to hide the incoming callers number or information.Has anyone had any experience with creating an extension like this?

The majority of our users make and receive calls through the desktop phone app exclusively (they don't use a desk phone or the mobile app). As I was going through user device settings I found that some users have two devices listed- RingCentral Phone app and Softphone- but the former doesn't seem to be utilized. So I'm a bit confused as to why it's showing at all and if this is how it should be.Here's a screenshot of what I am referring to.Now, if I open the RC Phone app details, it shows "Offline", which is why I unpublished it.Conversely, when viewing the softphone details, it shows "Online" and that it is associated with the computer.So, I guess my question is, what is the point of the 'RC Phone app' as a device? It doesn't seem like it belongs. There's no option to delete it, either. I have the following business problem: A customer wants to call us to speak, but is either international in which case it's expensive for them, or we want to do a screenshare or video call.One option could be to join a meeting (either RingCentral, Teams, etc). However, we don't know when they're going to call and don't want to leave an open meeting indefinitely. Also, it would be great to know from any device we're on when they join, with a notification.WhatsApp sort of accomplishes this, but that is tied to a personal #, and doesn't do screensharing. Is there a way that RingCentral can allow the user to call us from a web page (but not RingMe which just calls them on their phone), or that RingCentral Meeting can allow a personal meeting link whereby when the user joins it alerts us to join too?

Is there still not a way to see deleted text messages? The last time someone asked was in 2020. I called and the person I was spoke with kept insisting I could and trying to walk me through it, but what he was trying to get me to do did not make sense.
