Over the past two weeks we have started receiving SMS messages with the message “help”.  The inbound numbers are random and very infrequently the same.  The majority of the numbers being targeted are not published so am assuming a bad character somehow retrieved them.  In looking through the SMS logs concentrating on Company Numbers I am seeing the inbound text and then an immediate outbound text to that very number.  These Company Numbers are only monitored by myself and am not responding to these texts.  When logged into the app as admin I am not seeing any outbound text.  Also, the admin account receives other texts but am not seeing any similar auto response. Any ideas why these auto responses are being generated?   Thank you,Susan  

Hello, I have set up a workflow with Zoho Flow to send an SMS based on the status of a lead. The SMS should be sent from the phone number of ANY lead owner/user that has changed the lead status. The lead owner/user has a ring central account and a phone number. However, the flow will only work for me, the person that has configured the wrkflow. For all other owners/user, I get this error: "RingCentral says \"In order to call this API endpoint for another extension, one of the following permissions [OutboundSMS] have to be granted with extended scope to the authorized user.\""Why oh why is something that's so simple somehow made rather complicated by Ringcentral?

Hi, I reviewed the documentation but couldn’t find any references to webhook subscriptions for Video Calls. We have a need to download RC video recordings and ideally our platform is notified via webhook. We currently use subscriptions for phone calls and that works well.Does anyone know if it’s supported at all? I know the Video APIs are in beta so I’m not sure if the docs are somewhere else or if it’s just not supported.Thanks!

Is there a way I can create a role where the only access they have is call recordings for a specific set of users?

I recently switched to Frontier. I tried using my previous phone with a Cisco adapter, but it didn’t work. The RingCentral team recommended a Yealink phone, saying it would work immediately once installed, so I purchased it — but it also doesn’t work.Because of this, I spent the entire day on the phone trying to resolve the issue. At this point, after so many calls, I’m so confused that I don’t even know what the problem is anymore, where I am, or who I am. And still, nothing has been fixed.I really don’t know what to do next or how to solve this. I’m overwhelmed, I haven’t gotten any work done, and I think I’m completely burned out.Please help.

I have 2 users that do not come up as options in the messaging platform of RingCentral.  Is there a setting that I am possibly missing in the user profile that doesn’t allow them to get messages?  I have compared their settings in RingCentral to others users I message and they seem the same.Thank you!Kelly

What I’m wondering is if there is a setting that I can activate that will let me record a greeting that will play and then immediately place an incoming call on hold until I can answer it? While I’m currently on the line already?Example: I’m on the phone and the customer is speaking to me. I cannot interrupt them to ask them to hold while I take the new call long enough to ask them to hold while I finish the first caller. I am the only one here to answer the call though. So, I’m wondering if the new call coming in can be answered by Ring Central and asked to hold until I can end the call with the current caller and then switch over to the new caller? Hopefully that isn’t too confusing.

The previous fix I saw for this mentioned accessing the “Admin portal.” As far as I know, I don’t have access to any admin portal. How do I make it so I can send texts via Ring? I’ve been working around this issue for over a year by copying the number that send me a text and replying using the texting service on my phone.Since I’ve had Ring, maybe a year and a half, sending texts has never worked. Maybe this account feature is disabled for me or is this something that isn’t yet integrated into the computer and phone application (both don’t work)?This seems like a simple fix and my senior level computer programming twin brother says it shouldn’t be complicated to utilize a phone number to send a message, phones in fact do this multiple times a day. Thanks

When I use RingCentral to download a transcript, the PDF is jumbled.  In web searches for the problem, it seems like it is a font issue.   The PDF doesn’t have the font definition that is required.I’ve used two different PDF readers, as well as web viewers, and nothing works.   Is there a known solution to this?

We have 4 extensions in our office, all in same call queue and set to simultaneous ring. Problem is, one of the phones is receiving calls frequently that aren’t ringing to everyone. When the desk is not manned, how can we (others in call queue) grab that call without physically running across the room to answer it?

Randomly I have several numbers that the location is not the same as the others within the number range.  How can I update this so that the CalleID is showing correctly? For example 50 numbers will show Location:  United States, Boston, MA while two are showing Location:  United States, Brockton, MA.  When these two employees make outbound calls their CallerID is showing Brockton, MA as opposed to Boston, MA. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I need to configure the extensions of our executives so that they do not receive DID calls, but they can receive them when transferred from the receptionist (or other extension) and they can place outbound calls.  The receptionist runs call interference for them and transfers good calls to their extension.I have tried adding a call rule to forward calls that dial their (required) DID number to our main company number (receptionist). The result is the call cannot be transferred to the executives’ extension.  It circles back to the receptionist.

How do I move an agent to a different group? 

We have been using Redtail CRM x RingCentral Extension for call handling going on 4 years. We’ve dealt with one-off issues here and there but for the most part, it’s work seamlessly. For the past 2 months we’ve started to experience problems - if someone calls the office main line, I answer then forward to the proper office extension, that office extension answers in the ringcentral extension within redtail, but cannot hear the client on the line. Now immediately after hanging up, the office extension can dial out to the client it works fine. Or if the office extension answers the call directly, no problems there. It appears the problem is when the call is forwarded. Important note: none of the audio/microphone settings were changed. After we experience the problem, i will then test the same exact process, it then will work. Its extremely frustrating and unprofessional.  ETA: as of this morning I redownloaded the ringcentral extension to the office extens

US Account - Is there a way using Ring Central to schedule text messages to send at a future date and time?  We would like to schedule text messages to go out over the weekend when we're not in the office.  Thank you!

I’m working on a PoC for SMS Opt In/Out with our CRM. I'm performing the following request in a Java app using the latest SDK. My app is authenticating using Client Id/Secret and JWT. var response2 = rc.patch("/restapi/v2/accounts/~/sms/consents", body); This is the response body I get back.{"errorCode":"CMN-408","message":"Unauthorized access","errors":[{"errorCode":"CMN-408","message":"Unauthorized access"}]}I have confirmed that my app has the SMS scope and the SMSSending Feature Flag is turned on. Can you help me troubleshoot what permission/access I might be missing? I have already gone through the getting started tutorial and performed a successful “Ring Out” request, so I know that other REST requests do work.

Call used to ring on the desk phone and RC Mobil App, now it only rings on desk phone.  Its been like this for a couple of months.  Is there a resolution?  I am mobile most of the day not at my desk and don't want the calls forwarded to my cell number because I loose the caller ID.

If I am using a third party SIP application how would I park a call?From a deskset there is a call-park button but from an app I need the proper feature access code.

Hi All,For context, we’ve recently migrated our organisation from Mitel to RingCentral, and our users are utilising the Microsoft Teams plugin.Previously, in the Mitel system, Reception could enable a “Night Mode” to forward calls to a specified location. In that setup, calls were directed to the Reception extension rather than a call queue.In RingCentral, we’ve moved away from direct extensions for Reception and implemented call queues for better control. However, Reception is finding it difficult to forward calls—they currently need to log into the RingCentral portal, which involves multiple steps and is cumbersome.Is there an easier way to allow Reception to forward queue calls without accessing the RingCentral portal?Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.Many thanks,Jacob

I am trying to retrieve all  Transcripts , for the entire account, that occurred in  a date range, or possibly where the AI was completed in the date range   i would like to just use  http requests as opposed to the Ringcentral library.  is this possible?   

Hi Team,I believe I may have identified a bug affecting the RingCentral RingCX Salesforce integration when calls are handled through the RingCentral Phone via the RingCentral for Google Chrome add-on.Issues observed: When accepting a call through the Chrome add-on pathway, the Mute button within the RingCX Salesforce Widget becomes greyed out and cannot be selected. If I select any option within the Chrome add-on (e.g., Messages, Dialpad, etc.), the active call exits and can no longer be accessed from within the add-on. Business context:We are encouraging agents to remain within the Salesforce environment so they can: Add the Client ID and Case ID to the call Complete the dispositions accurately

Is anyone else getting emails that look like authentic RingCentral notifications except instead of coming from a notifications@RingCentral email address, they come from your own email address? There are a few of us within my company that are getting these emails that look like they’re from RingCentral alerting us to a voicemail. They contain an attachment. However, when we log into our RingCentral app, there is no such call or voicemail. It is happening daily, and sometimes multiple times a day. RingCentral should look into this ASAP and users be cautious about clicking links or attachments.
