Help resolving issues relating to the redirect URI in OAuth

OAuth's authorization code flow requires developers to register with RingCentral a redirect URL to which users authenticating will be sent upon successfully authenticating. Each app can register multiple redirect URIs (which is commonly just a URL in the classic https:// format) in order to accommodate different user flows. The specific URL an app want to redirect a user is sent by the app when the user is initially sent to RingCentral to login. This URL must match one of the redirect URIs on file for that application. If it doesn't then the following error will be returned by RingCentral: {  "error" : "invalid_grant",  "errors" : [    { "errorCode" : "OAU-109",      "message" : "Redirect URIs do not match" }  ],  "error_description" : "Redirect URIs do not match"} This check is essential to maintaining the security of RingCentral and of your application, and prevents third-parties from hyjacking your app and redirecting authenticated users to untrusted sites. Cannot Access Credentials Page for Developers Within Organization

Hi there,I am trying to create JWT tokens for developers within my organization. I was able to do this successfully yesterday, but today whenever I click on a developer from the Developer List and click the credentials option, it redirects me to the https://developers.ringcentral.com URL and I just get a spinning wheel waiting for it to load. As a side note, I am able to access my own credentials page just fine, and I have the Developer Admin role, but I can’t access anyone else on my team’s credentials page. Thanks,Danny

Control caller id / from-number when using the CallOut API

I am using the following CallOut API to initiate click-to-dial calls from our call center staff to customers:https://developers.ringcentral.com/api-reference/Call-Control/createCallOutCallSession Our call center staff are all calling from either the desktop, mobile, or browser apps, which unfortunately don’t register device ids.  I used the workaround from the following thread, which is scanning the call logs to find the last (dynamic) device id used by each user’s extension. Now that I can initiate calls from a user’s device to a customer, the problem I’m having is that I can’t find anyway to control the caller-id / from-number that the customer sees is calling them.  It’s always showing up as the main company number.  The CallOut API seemingly only takes a device id in the “from” parameter, but no caller id. Is there any way I can set the caller id number seen by the receiver (“to” number) when initiating calls from CallOut?

Sending SMS from n8n with Hardcoded Authorization Token

Hello everyone,I'm working on integrating RingCentral's SMS capabilities into my n8n workflows. I'm looking for a way to send SMS messages directly from n8n using HTTP requests to the SMS send endpoint.However, I'd like to simplify the authentication process by using a hardcoded credential or authorization token instead of going through the full OAuth flow each time.Is this approach possible with the RingCentral API? If so, could someone provide any pointers on how to achieve this?Any suggestions or code examples would be greatly appreciated!Thanks in advance!

Can OtherPhone device types be used for call supervision?

We have added our own phone on the Ringcentral portal by manually provisioning the sip details. When the List Extension Devices API(https://platform.ringcentral.com/restapi/v1.0/account/accountId/extension/extensionId/device) is called the phone is identified as a OtherPhone. The phone has a unique device id being returned in the API response. But the supervision API mentions that it only works for Sotfphone/Hardpone type.Can anyone confirm if OtherPhone works for supervision?

Message sends failing with SendingFailed

Message sends have been failing for the last 24 hours with SendingFailed status. I don’t see any issues in the developer dashboard, and I don’t see a way to get more information from the API.This is a mission-critical application that has been working for many months. Any ideas on how to debug this to the next level of detail?I created a support ticket as well.

Catastrophic failure with API calls for SMS gateway

I had an application built that relies on the SMS gateway. For the last several months, I have been experiencing issues and as of this last week the issues have escalated. Massive delays in text messages being sent after initiated, some being sent in the middle of the night. As of today, almost 100% of the API calls have failed. In my web application custom application, there is a form where some information is filled out and when the form is submitted it triggers 2 actions; 1 - The phone number entered in the form receives a text message2 - The information in the form is texted into a group text message  In the admin panel for my custom application, I am able to create new text groups and add or remove numbers in existing groups. For the last 2 months, every time I update a groups numbers the text messages stop going through. Sometimes, randomly, after a few days I’ll be able to update the numbers and it will start working with those new numbers. It’s not consistent at all, sometimes

How to add a number/caller to a call queue that I have created?

Hey, I have created a call queue on my admin portal and assigned a direct number to it. I just wanted to add all the inbound calls to this call queue. How can I do that using API’s or using admin portal? Said that, I just wanted to add incoming calls on my main extension to a call queue which have a direct number 838****** . What’s the way even using API’s. Besides that, how to remove the caller from the queue or how it will be removed? Need a brief description of how it’s working.Need a quick help because our business can’t wait more.

Can I text a PDF?

I just spoke to the Ring Central helpline after attempting to text a PDF document. Helpline claims we should be able to text a PDF, however it's now allowing me to do so. I can text a PNG and a JPEG, but otherwise the options are "grayed out" on my laptop, or a pop up message says "this format is not supported." They mentioned issues like overage on our texting, or the PDF having an issue like a virus, both of which don't make sense. Please clarify if this is possible. Thank you!!

ringcentral-python sdk gives 1000 bye responses from the websocket

I start up the websocket process to capture events from given extensions. The intention is to have a long running websocket that. IVR Limits?

I have an API workflow that updates an IVR with text….. I have found it does not like a dash, a comma, and now something else but idk what…. It takes the text but doesn’t update the audio on the prompt. Is there some docs somewhere that says what's acceptable and what's not? Main line routing to specific user softphone issue

We are using routing from main line to a specific user who handles all incoming calls. Here is our configuration:This user answers the call using https://github.com/ringcentral/ringcentral-softphone-tsOur user answers the calls automatically everything works as we expected. But after some time when it’s running on our main line, someting weird starting to happens - our user is still answering incoming call, and start streaming the audio as before, we can see this in the logs, but on the phone we hear only silence for 5-15 seconds after that “I am sorry no one is available to take your call. Thank you for calling.” is playing and the call disconnected.We don’t know for sure when it’s happens, it’s super hard to reproduce, if it’s after exact time or maybe after N amount of the calls that were routed to our user, because it different each time we try it. Usually it takes ~ 25-65 minutes before it stop working correctly.When this issue happens in the dashboard the incoming calls marked as

Calls not answered after idle time

Hello. We are using https://github.com/ringcentral/ringcentral-softphone-ts for answering the phone. But after some idle time at night (like 12 hours or so) if we call this phone number the call is not answered automatically. this.softphone.on('invite', async (inviteMessage: InboundMessage) => {…}Could you please help us how we can make sure that we are answering the calls even after some time that sever is running?Thanks.

Google Contacts / MacOS Launch External App

We’ve identified a possible bug identified for the RingCentral MacOS app. We are running the latest version.We have our RingCentral app (Mac and iOS) synced with our Google Contacts (list of 8000 contacts). When our line rings, the iOS and Mac app always correctly displays the name of the client calling based on our integration with Google Contacts.However we have identified a possible bug when using:"Launch an external app or website for incoming calls"When launching an external app built and passing the full name and full number of the customer calling (%N and %P respectively) as parameters, the RingCentral app does not reliably pass the customers name when it is able to display it within the MacOS app absolutely fine.We have identified that the above works fine if the client rings for a second occasion, but on the first occasion the clients name is not passed in the parameters. Hello, OAU-141 - Authentication is prohibited due to an inappropriate user stateI’ve started getting these errors in production. It has worked fine for the longest time and I’m not sure what’s causing this. The first time I got it I stopped the process and waited several minutes before starting it again which worked fine. Calendly can give me their API. is there anything ringcentral can do to use that to integrate the product. I'd love to have the video calling features to be integrated with Calendly app. Currently they are integrated with Zoom and it makes things easy

SendingFailed Triggered When Sending My Website Link Only

I am using Zapier for this API integration. When I try to send a test message to my phone with a link to the scheduling page on my website, I get the SendingFailed status. However, when I use various test links such as google.com, amazon.com, or even a small local company in my city like https://bendbeautyspa.com/ the test message always goes through. Is there something I’m missing? I’ve sent text messages with links to my website in the past but now this error code appears.
