I'm trying to modify the 'hidden' field with Update Extension API and I cannot get the value to change. I see the behavior when using the API in my app as well as via the 'try it out' button on the web page. Is there some other requirement to get this field to update? An example use case is the user shows up in the company directory but we want to change hidden to 'true' from 'false'. The API response returns a 200 but the field value does not change.

I have made an application which fetches the chats info to build an analytics on the no of messages send and received.The user authorizing application has super admin permissions.Steps:Fetch all chats by restapi/v1.0/glip/chatsFetch all messages for individual chats by: restapi/v1.0/glip/chats/chatid/postsBut while fetching one chat's post I get this message:{ "errors": [ { "errorCode": "CHT-012", "message": "The requester must be team member." } ] }Why am I getting this error ? Are there any limitations in a way that could restrict super admin to access all the endpoints(including chat posts) ?

Hi,I asked some of my users (new members of staff) to gain access to the Ring Central University to learn about our telephony system. They came back to me and said they couldn't log in because they got an error message that says: 'Sorry, you currently don't have permission to access this service'.I worked out that if I changed their role to 'Super admin' (which is effectively full platform access) then they could access the University.Obviously I do not want to give my standard users full platform access but is that right? Has anyone else had that issue or am I missing something?Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As of 6th May 2021, our RingCentral CRM integration stopped working. The integration is providing click to dial and screen popping capabilities within the Access RDB CRM software. This is a custom plugin that has been developed for us .After speaking with our developer, they have advised that the issue has occurred due to changes made by RingCentral surrounding the authorization within the .NET SDK. The plugin is using the 2.0.2 version of the .NET SDK. The plugin is now unable to authorize with RingCentral so it no longer works.Is anybody aware of any changes relating to this that may have been made around 6th May that could cause this type of plugin to suddenly stop being able to authorize? The plugin has been working fine for the previous 12 months. The assumption is that, as there have been no changes to the plugin or any of the authorization credentials on our end, the changes must have occurred from RingCentral.Please can somebody advise on what the underlying issue is likely to

Hello - Is there a way to change the Contact view in the app so that it shows the statuses of the company users in the list? Right now our users have to open the profile of each contact to see this. We are fairly new to RingCentral.

Where are the breakout rooms in the new RingCentral App? I have them enabled in the administrator section of my account, but I cannot see the feature in the app during a video conference.

My app subscribes to message notifications and automatically imports faxes to our CRM. These are mission-critical to us, so to make sure we don't miss anything I also periodically request a message store report (say once every ten minutes, looking back 12 minutes). RC desktop app for Windows has stopped launching correctly as of today. It worked fine a couple days ago, and this PC's Windows 10 was last updated in March. What occurs now when trying to either open or reinstall Ringcentral is four background processes will start, but nothing else. No application is visible or loads, even for a second. I have tried completely uninstalling all traces of the app from the workstation, including the registry entries. Downloading and then attempting to run the installer from the website ends in the same result - a few background processes visible in Task Manager, but no visible application.Running out of ideas since wiping it clean did not produce a different outcome.

Hi. First post for me for this community. It seems RC does not provide a method to block incoming calls at the top level. By that I mean as an admin I cannot block a number from calling. I see where I can block calls from hitting Queues and how users can block calls from getting to their extension. But wanted to make sure I am not missing an option that would allow us to block a number from calling all extensions or queues without need to do at the user/extension or queue level.

How can I find out and rectify?

The next step is to use that auth token to generate an API token. I did a POST to https://portal.vacd.biz/api/v1/admin/token with the "X-Auth-Token" header and value of my auth token and get a 401 unauthorized. I tried to POST to the other one at https://portal.virtualacd.biz/api/v1/admin/login and get a 404 not found. I am considered a "super admin" with all the privileges I need to be able to access and generate an API token. When I try to use Zapier to take a file from Google Drive and send a fax using RingCentral, all that RingCentral sends is a cover sheet. So not only is the PDF not being sent, but a cover sheet is the only page despite selecting no cover sheet in Zapier. If I change the step to send me an email, the PDF comes through just fine. Has anyone successfully sent a fax using Zapier?

My company has been using RC for ~10 years, and we've had a HUD via the RC 'Phone App' for 5 of those. We've come to rely on the HUD as a visual insight into the status of other users, who's tied up on a call, who's on lunch, etc. Frankly, it might be the feature we value the most in the app.For a long time now I have been watching RC's progress with the new app, waiting for it to be fully functional before I considered migrating my users. This evening I downloaded the new (desktop) app to evaluate it and, much to my shock and surprise, it doesn't appear that this app has a HUD. I just can't imagine this to be true, though, so I am hoping that I've missed a setting somewhere and that it can be turned on? Can anyone shed some light on this mystery for me?PS: I read a ton of documentation before posting this. And while I can likely infer that the HUD is not included in this app, I was unable to confirm this since the documentation for the new app d

I see some discussion that HUD display was to be out in Q4 2020. Is this active yet? I cannot find it on the new RC app I had to download for a new computer set up.

Hi, I'm new to Ring Central and have a simple question hope someone can help.Basically, I'd like to find out how can I park a call and then transfer to the recipient using Polycom desk phone. For example, if I pick up a incoming call for my colleague and I need to park the call to a location and then inform my colleague (via intercom I guess) the park location for him/she to pick up the call. What do I need to setup to perform the above? Thanks in advance.

The RingCentral app on my android device is no longer ringing. Looking at the google play feedback, 2 other members also write in the same complaint. I checked my settings and they have not been changed. Showing its set to Ring Loud with Vibrate disabled.Is anyone else getting this problem as its started a few days ago and I factory resetted my device to instantly get the same problem with Ring Central first thing.Thank you.

We are trying to determine if fax to email aligns with our security posture. As seen on RC documentation and inspected in Message Trace we have confirmed outbound faxes are encrypted. This part we are content with. The issue is inbound fax to email from customers/vendors that are using a physical fax machine. Once that fax is sent to RC's address we don't know what happens. Is the document faxes being encrypted before transport to our mail servers? Hopefully someone has the answer or can point to me documentation with the information.Thanks, John

Title says it all...My company manages a lot of client accounts -- login credentials for web portals, emails accounts, and etc. And a lot of these accounts have 2FA (two factor authentication) enabled.Rather than have our employees use their own personal phone numbers as the 2FA registered number for our client's accounts, we'd much rather have them use their RingCentral phone number. It's more secure and easier to manage.---So, if I'm using RingCentral's SMS API, can I use a RingCentral phone number to receive 2FA codes (SMS messages) from Google and other security code providers?Does this violate any terms of service? I don't want to get banned from RingCentral over trying to use our phone numbers in this way...I know that there have been problems in the past with VoIP providers and SMS gateway service providers receiving SMS security codes... Does RingCentral suffer from this same limitation?Google likes to only send 2FA codes to "real" phone number
