I need incoming callers to hear the phone ringing.  Then I want the receptionist to answer the ringing phone.  My customers are just getting dead space so they are all hanging up.  I want them to hear the ring, we answer the phone and then transfer to the appropriate extension.  If the receptionist does not answer the phone on the 4th ring then I would like the phone to go to voicemail.  I get everything figured out and then one day it just changes all by itself.

My business has used Ring Central for our toll-free number service for many years. In the past few months, we have been getting increasing numbers of robo calls. These calls (with no person on the other end) are answered, and the company greeting is played instructing the caller to push the appropriate extension. The robo caller obviously does not push an extension, and the company greeting plays a second time before disconnecting a process that takes about 2-1/2 minutes. We are now receiving approximately 45 robo calls per day, so that is about 112 toll free minutes we are charged for in one day. We are billed by RingCentral for the additional minutes over our plan. These calls are coming from all different numbers that have the caller ID spoofed. When we have tried to call back some of these numbers, we get some people to answer and they always have no idea about us and didnt make the call. Want to get my receptionist in production. What would help for all of us:A sandbox to test what we’re building, not at the individual stage level, but in basically a production level sandbox.    The 500 character “prompt” (ie, company description) is way too short. It also may be better used as a traditional system prompt rather than an faq generating action (“You are a helpful knowledgeable and kind assistant for company XYZ… Always use {variables}. Never say {variable}. Do not insert stock phrases like “would you like me to transfer you to X”. Trying to build a capable assistant not a switchboard.    Please provide more information on the knowledge base usage, and how the AI references it.  we can create (some of us have this handy) our own faq; can the knowledge base contain instructions on bot behavior…tone/temperature etc? (More than the options for the default voice and style)? Will growing knowledge bases create significant latency in the AI response? are .md or .xml files usabl

Anyone know how to easily cancel a RingCentral account?  I’ve grown tired of their terrible support.  

Just seeing if there is any new information in Ring Central about stopping robo and spam calls. We have some users that just a ton of them even though I toggled on the ‘robo-call’ setting. I know everyone has to deal with this, but just curious if there were any updates. 

Hello All, Apologies for the verbose title but I wanted it to articulate my companies issue clearly. Here is what's happening:Our company integrates with RC for many of our customers in order to obtain and track their telephony data. To accomplish this, we create webhook subscriptions for each account on behalf of a user from the account. The issue with this approach is that when that user leaves, a new user must authenticate with RC and thus, another subscription is created. The new webhook subscription itself is not the issue but rather, the old subscription which isn't deleted. Since the old subscription was made by a user we no longer track in our system, we cannot view or delete the old subscription via the RC API (https://platform.ringcentral.com/restapi/v1.0/subscription). Is there a way for us to be able to view all webhook subscriptions for an account if we only have a specific users access token? If so, how can we delete the 'old' subscriptions? Perhaps there

My Windows app freezes completely and quitting and restarting doesn't help. I have to actually launch a Task Manager and kill the app and then restart it. By freeze what I mean is, tapping on anything on the app has no response. This seems to occur when I switch WiFi network, although I am not 100% certain. Has anyone seen this? It is pretty annoying! Now I have a work around it is not a blocking issue, but it seems like a bug.I also notice, when I "quit" the app from the menu, there are still RingCentral processes lingering when I look at Task Manager.

We have a number of teams , Sales, Marketing, Delivery. I want to have the option to dig down into those teams to transfer a call or to see the status. Is there a way to do this?

My Shokz headset is not able to answer my Ring calls. I can use the Shokz speaker and microphone when I answer on the computer with my mouse, but not able to use the headset controls to answer.

I have spent countless hours on the phone with support just to add an option to workflow studio for our IVR options.  If the caller presses ‘2’, I want the call transferred to an external number.  Is that really so hard to do that even RC support is unable to do this?  Is there someone on this thread I can pay to help me support this monstrosity of a phone system? We are a fam med clinic and no one in our area supports Ring Central so by default, that lands on me.  I am willing to pay for help!  Thanks.  

I am trying to generate a report for a message only extension to find out how many calls come through that line. This report will be run on a weekly basis.

I’m looking for a solution to the issue described here:When I get a call from a call queue if I click "Ignore Call" on my desktop app the Incoming Call screen goes away and then pops right back up a few seconds later.There must be a way to make this happen, right? My idea is to create fake users to put at the end of my fixed order call queue. That way when my actual users have hit ignore, the fake extensions will “ring” one by one until the maximum wait time is reached (so in my case, 3 rings/15 seconds per fake user, 1 minute timeout, I would have 4 fake users so that I can ensure the call never circles back to my actual users). This obviously isn’t an elegant solution and would consume 4 licenses (not cool), has anyone found a better way of making this happen using Ring Central’s existing features?

We have turned on incoming call recording for most of our extensions.  We excluded a few extensions (executives).  But when these executives call other extensions, they are recorded since incoming calls to that extension are set to record.  How can we exclude certain extensions to never be recorded, even when calling other extensions that are set to record incoming calls?  We are also fine with recording ONLY incoming calls from external sources and excluding all internal calls.  But a Ring Central FAQ said this is not possible.  I realize there is an option to only record call queues, but this isn’t enough since many calls are direct and don’t go through a queue.  I’m confident there are other companies that want to exclude certain people from being recorded from all calls.  How do they achieve this?

All of a sudden, after working fine, when I turn on video in RC it turns the video container all one color with no buttons or controls.My camera works fine by itself, and works fine in other applications. 

As per title.I've got the MSI latest version installed, and tried with local administrator credentials on the pc, along with regular user, tried running the teams desktop plugin as admin and teams as regular user (then the reverse of that), tried the latest teams versus teams classic (with same admin/non admin or full admin) and in every scenario, this is what's happening:Teams opened and logged in, click on ringcentral embedded app in teamsManually opened ringcentral for teams desktop plugin, appears to be runningGo back to teams and ringcentral embedded app says 'Loading RingCentral desktop plugin...' with no further informationTried checking logs (windows event viewer, rc logs etc) and not sure what exactly is stopping it.Were I to guess, something is stopping the embedded app from 'seeing' that the desktop plugin is running, but I don't know how else to get around that (having already disabled antivirus, windows firewall, etc) with it still not working.A

We have made some changes to our office layout and have removed four boardrooms that previously had Limited Extensions.How do I remove the four Limited Extensions that are no longer required?

Clio is one of the most popular cloud case management systems for attorneys. Vonage, Nextiva, Smith ai and jive (and the list is growing) all have integrations that will log calls, messages and time entries into Clio. Why none from RC? RC customers will be leaving if RC can't adopt this much-needed integration.

This is a problem in the Softphone App. We are having an issue where our users attempt to make a 3-way call, sometimes called Local Conference, or 3-way Merge, where we are on a call, click to add a user, dial the number using the dial pad, connect successfully to that 3rd number, click on the Merge To Conference button, then both callers are disconnected about 1 second after the merge to conference button is pressed. Is anyone else having this problem or heard of this problem. This is getting very frustrating to diagnose.

How do I create a detailed call report showing calls from the prior day with the messages left and what extension they were sent to? 

hi I am new to RingCentral but I have some programming experience. I have an auto repair shop and I just got RingCentral account with two VoIP numbers. I’m trying to open up customer information form when call comes in. I have a small listener python program running on my machine with ngrok set up I’m having trouble connecting or setting up the web event onto central side I would appreciate if somebody would guide me through thank you so much

I had RingCentral set up so that when we received a fax it auto printed. I got a new computer with Win 11 Pro, reinstalled RC and now I cannot find an option to auto print. I have consulted with 2 different RC reps, neither of which could figure out what is wrong. One rep I spoke with said on his version RC had that option, so my guess is they took out the auto print feature? I am running 23.3.23.8166 Windows (x64). Any ideas?

How secure is it to send PII across SMS texting?

My desk phone is no longer ending a phone call when I hang the receiver up. The call remains live and I have to manually press the end call button on the phone’s display screen. Has anyone experienced this and how do I fix it? I’ve looked in all of the settings on the phone and in the admin account. Help!

When I tap a call link in Chrome, RingCentral is opening and making the call. I am using the RingCentral app on my cell phone. Prior to a couple of months ago, call links were opening my native phone app. This is my personal cell phone and RingCentral is for work. I do not want RingCentral opening call links. I have Googled this issue and followed so many instructions. Nothing is correcting this issue. In RingCentral, I turned off the open supported links option (now I have an annoying pop up on the app every time it opens). Suggestions?
